How long does he have to go scoreless before we're off the hook for the Oden pick?
Speaking of Oden..... still hasn't played during the regular season, right?
No idea, but seeing as how there wasn't a ten page thread discussing how shitty/awesome he looked I sort of assumed he's still inactive.
Besides, he only needs to be playing 10-15 minutes/game by midseason. If Miami can get 20 minutes or so out of him come playoffs, that would be huge from them.
He had knee soreness and swelling again after his 4 minutes of preseason action. I'm not sure if he even makes it on the court for any meaningful minutes in the playoffs.
I love how Spoelstra says they don't want to rush him back. It's been 4 years, and they don't want to rush him back.

I don't necessarily expect him back. But even if he were fully healthy now, I don't think Miami would be playing him much, if at all. He's proven to be extremely fragile. Because of this, I would only expect him for so many potential games, and you want those games to be at the end of the season, not the beginning. That being said, I've long figured he was done and I don't expect a lot of him, except maybe a few highlights. Part of me hopes I'm right, and part of me hopes I'm wrong.
You can't just throw the guy on the court with the starters and expect things to click though, can you? Miami clearly isn't sure about the guy, based on the 1-year contract, nor should they be confident in him. With their team, it was a minimal risk, and they still have Joel Anthony as a 3rd big off the bench if Oden can't do it.
"Hey what do you think about Anthony Bennett?"
"Greg Oden hasn't played yet this season"
"I know right?"

Well, it's fairly relevant. Who else would be a bigger bust as the #1 pick in recent memory?
No, that's why I suspect they're going to throw him out there midseason or later (assuming he's healthy), and give him 10 minutes or so to see if he can gain any confidence, and slowly work him in with their rotation players.
Pain, not confidence, is his problem. He will never play 10 minutes in a game again.
I don't think Bargs can touch Oden with a ten foot pole.
Why would Bargs touch Oden with Oden's own pole?
Quick, let's trade Meyers Leonard for him!
"Him" being Anthony Bennett. Wait, is this the Anthony Bennett thread?
