Anybody else starting to think Gorton is clueless and has no idea how to be a GM?

I mean, this guy has not only been useless all season. He made a terrible trade with Staal. He gave out another moronic NTC with Stepan. He basically let AV make stupid roster decision after stupid roster decision. I think we all were willing to give him some time. However, he clearly has no freakin idea what he's doing.

Don't forget he was an understudy to Sather... Let's see what he does this offseason and what personnel he brings in

Yep, I think we'll know what he is when we see what trades he makes and players he signs this offseason. I'll admit what's uneasy about this is sather is still there and no one knows what influence he still does or doesn't have. Wish sather would cut the cord completely and go back to canada and away from the rangers.

Yeah..... I can see & smell Sather all over this organization!

Everything this guy has done has been a failure. Right down to the AHL team. While the AHL team has a GM, Gorton should have been telling his clown down there to add much stronger vets to help develop the young players faster on that squad. The vets they added were garbage.

The guy hasn't even been the GM for a full year. You have to see what happens this summer and moving forward before discussing stuff like this.

There have been lots of GM's that come in and improve the team right away. His Staal trade was moronic. S0 was his Stepan NTC. So, I think it's safe to say he's sucked so far.

Some rumblings about Tyson Barrie being on the radar which would be a nice fallback if Yandle leaves.

Rangers need shutdown defenseman who can handle speed first and foremost. They don't need more defenseman who don't have a clue how to play defense. While Barrie might be very good offensively, he sucks defensively which is why he might be on the block.

I think the Rangers might break form next season and really push some of their top younger prospects at a younger age. Especially on defense. I wouldn't be shocked if Gropp and Graves got long looks along with Zborovskiy. I think the organization is fully aware it's defense is slow and sucks.

Late June is the NHL draft...........I expect nothing until
then = I have no confidence in Ranger organization when
it comes to off season transactions.

Sounds like the rules will prevent Staal or Girardi from being exposed to the expansion draft. Crap.

I will be supremely disappointed if the 4th pick and a player like RNH are on the table for McDonagh and our dumbass GM doesn't do that deal.

Essentially, Skjei is on the roster this year as a lefty. Graves next year. They don't have the money to sign Yandle. Staal is most likely unmovable. McDonagh is the most in the demand and can fetch the biggest return. The Rangers have to get a couple of franchise forwards. They don't have any and it sinks them every season.

Nash needs to go, trading him might mean bringing back another team's version but I think Rangers fans have seen enough or perhaps better stated haven't seen enough postseason success.

Well, every year a lot of teams spend right up to the cap. You can't listen to anything you read on anti-NY HockeysFuture. Those people are retarded. They think every player making over 5 million is a bad investment. They also are under the stupid assumption that the Rangers are terrible at handling contracts. Every team has at least 3-4 contracts that suck but the Rangers have had high point totals the past 5-6 years. They have some good contracts as well. My issue isn't so much the money but the NMC's they keep handing out like candy.

Hagelin started sucking here. He sucked ass in Anaheim. He has found a line in Pitt. He would have been another bad contract if they kept him here.

He had 5 points in 19 playoff games last year. Basically, he sucked. He had 1 OT winner than crawled under a rock. His PPG average was decreasing each year here. Nobody cares about Hagelin here. The Rangers haven't won a cup because Rick Nash sucked beyond belief in the finals. Because they consistently don't have their biggest offensive players score in the playoffs. Last year it's because their defenseman were old, overpaid and sucked.

Ok..... Good for him though he's on his way to winning more cups tha anyone in the Rangers

Teams win. Not individuals. Stop sucking Hagelin off. If Hagelin and Kreider could ever score on a fukkkking breakaway the Rangers would have beat the Kings in the finals.

An individual definitely takes personal satisfaction in a win.
Yes I remember clearly in game one when Haglin have a breakaway with two minutes left and, in typical ranger fashion, missed

So much for no trades allowed before the draft. Devils just made a trade.

yeah! nice snag too. it sucks the pick is in 2018 but hey its "free". i do believe your allowed to trade after the deadline just like in baseball but there are certain rules on the types of players involved.

I'll say here and now.........every Ranger, for the right price, is tradeable. So, Gorton
what are you waiting for? If the Hagelin for Etem is any sign, you are one terrible
jackass of a GM!

Hagelin was dealt for picks which resulted in Gropp who projects as a lot better player than Hagelin.

Kreider, thanks for that info. There are times that I get so pissed off at Ranger
management's player moves.........it all falls into crap moves. Gropp looks to be
promising. If he's anything like Panthers' Trocheck, I'll be happy.

gropp projects to be a better player than Hags? we'll see. Hags just hoisted the Stanley Cup. He played an important role for the Penquins. Gropp at this point is all potential. Hags is a champion.

6/14/16 | 4:12PM: According to Pierre LeBrun, the Rangers have not held any contract talks with pending UFA Keith Yandle because they would "have to move out money before they even pick up the phone." (ESPN)

LeBrun says that unless the Rangers are able to move out some money and create cap space, "all signs point" toward Yandle becoming a UFA. (ESPN)

LeBrun notes, "there shouldn't be any shortage of interest in a puck-moving, power-play stud like him." (ESPN)

For more on Yandle's potential future, click HERE.

Adam Rotter: The Rangers will miss Yandle but their lack of salary cap space combined with the amount of money they already have committed on defense and the amount that Yandle will get as a UFA will preclude him from coming back. If the Rangers find a way to move all of, or at least most of, either Dan Girardi or Marc Staal's contract it may be another story. That seems like a long shot though and Yandle will be running another team's power play next season.

Sounds like we'll know sooner than later if were resigning Yandle. If no trades done when free agency opens Yandle will be out of here quickly.
