Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is aiming to develop curved shape batteries for mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, and other electronic devices based on its latest patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on Thursday, May 2, 2013.

Hmmm. This is interesting. I wonder what the actual design could be? I know that apple has a ton of patents out and sometimes they throw out designs to throw "curve balls" pardon the pun, so competitors don't know where they are going.

What I do know is that apple will make damn sure they have all the patents necessary so a company like Samasung can't rip them off again.

I think this is a big moment for Apple. People who are apple supporters are nervous that Apple is losing their competitive edge as an innovator. They need to make more of an upgrade that just a bigger screen or more users will switch to the Galaxy 4S, HTCone or some other phone.
