The concept of having a centralized wireless charging hub would be a game changer. That feature alone can open up huge possibilities!

Imagine walking into to Starbucks and noticed your phone displays "charging" icon? Wires are a thing of the past!

No wonder they pre-ordered 80 million iPhone 6.0, iPhone 5 launch only sold 50 million the entire time till now.

At least that's how the other systems have worked. I mean if you could have the charge work for an entire room, that'd be a "game changer".

Still I have no doubt apple will expand this technology. The patent protects them from other companies using the same technology. They have seven years to master the frequency range.

I don't have any good hopes, I see exploding batteries and way shortened battery life in the first generation. Apple has surprised us, but with their wifi/cloud services which this is probably similar to, they are somewhat behind the pack.

Yep pretty soon plugging your device in will be a thing of the past. Even your car will be able to just charge up your device without you having to plug anything in. Just turn on the car.

APPLE TO UNVEIL NEW WEARABLE ALONGSIDE IPHONES IN SEPTEMBER, REPORTS SUGGEST

Say goodbye to FitBit and FuelBand.

Keeping with its tradition of revealing new hardware developments in the fall, Apple may unveil a new wearable device when it debuts the iPhone 6 on Sept. 9, Recode reports.

The new device may be the rumored iWatch, which reportedly will focus on health and fitness, monitoring everything from miles walked to hydration and glucose levels. It will also utilize iOS 8, which includes Healthbook. This feature monitors a user's vitals and sets medication reminders.

Earlier this year, sources said that Apple has developed technology allowing it to group all of the needed sensors into a single chip, drastically reducing the bulk a device like this would otherwise require. However, Apple seems to be moving in the opposite direction when it comes to the size of the new iPhones, as earlier reports point to the company releasing a 4.7 and 5.5 in. size for the mobile device's next generation.

It was unclear if Apple would hold off on announcing the rumored iWatch until after the iPhone 6 debut, but the new report suggests the two may take the stage simultaneously, or at least, very close together.
