Assuming we actually have a next season, based on tonight's events, are you looking forward to it?

At this point, I'd have to say my take is more morbid curiosity rather than excitement. Some years I can't wait for the summer to be over and training camp to start. Right now I'm thinking "Lockout? So, the Blazers have done nothing to make me look forward to next year. Maybe a lockout isn't so bad."

<sigh>

Gramps...

If there is a season next year, I am looking forward to it.

I am excited. I want to see Oden come back. I want to see Wallace as a Blazer for more games. I want to see Roy come back, and I want to see Batum step up.

I want Babbitt to demonstrate he's an NBA player. I want to be proven wrong about my disappointment over trading for Felton.

Not all of those things need to happen for me to be happy... the odds are that a couple of them will, at least, and that's exciting.

I'm less enthusiastic about the team's future now, however, than I've been at any time since right before we won the Oden lottery. I feel like we're doing a lousy job of stocking our team for the future, and I expect it to catch up to us in the next few years.

Ed O.

Will Greg Oden be playing? If yes, hell yes. If not, still yes. Love me some Blazer basketball - win or lose. The winter will suck without it.

I'm looking forward to the season. I haven't liked the team's direction this off-season, but the team still has a chance to be exciting of Oden comes back healthy at some point in the season and largely remains healthy.

If he doesn't, well, the team should be as exciting as any team on the fringes of playoff contention.

I am, for all the reasons cited in prior posts. And who knows, perhaps the blazers actually know something about Felton that we don't. It's possible.

The team got younger at PG, brought in a bench player who can score on is own, and still has the MLE to use.

Call me crazy, but I like what happened tonight.

What? No, I'm afraid it's not possible. I have consulted basketball-reference.com. Maybe you weren't aware of that.

Looks good to me. The sub guards are young, but Roy can help a few minutes there.

Perhaps I guess the primary reason for my malaise is that most years I have this thought that "we will be better next year". While that could happen, I just didn't see any moves tonight that made me think so. As, I believe, Ed O mentioned, other teams have gotten better while I don't have the same perception for the Blazers. All things being relative, if others get better and we don't, it could be a disappointing year next year.

Call me jaded but I'm neither impressed with management nor the future they appear to be developing.

I withdraw my comment. I misspoke; my post is inoperative.

I'm more interested in what we do with the backup PF position. Maybe we can resign Jeff and play him at it for 15m a night. I dunno thats the big position I wanted a great rebounder/hustle guy at and we whiffed so far. Guess we'll see what happens in FA.

Not happy about draft day, but always hopeful that things will turn out better than expected. I wish we had in mind a strategy to maximize the talents of our players; i felt like in the last two years they left that up to Miller to figure out and implement; seems like the coaches need to do more.

they knew something about Wesley Matthews that we didnt

Especially for you, mgb. If there's no NBA, you ought to get into college basketball.

Right now, Portland has 1 player over 6'10" who is healthy and a legitimate NBA player

Take away LMA and Crash, and that roster is slash-your-wrists-and-cover-your-eyes awful.

Yeah, yeah--take away Kobe and Gasol from the lakers and tell me how great their roster was last year. Nobody thinks we're title contenders next year, but it's not as bad as you make it out to be.

No one except our entire management team. 1-2 pieces away according to all of them

Counting on the MLE being in the new CBA are you?

At this point no, I'm sure the draft hangover will wear off though right? I guess, If we get a reliable banger PF to back up LMA somehow than I'm a go.

I always look forward to the next season with all my teams. Trail Blazers, Seahawks, and Beavers! Every fan should. Even if your team sucks.

Aldridge - cant wait to watch him dominate even more and be a little more consistent and improve his rebounding.
Matthews - amazed me last year and should improve again next year.
Batum - continue to improve. Hopefully he takes a big step in being the player we all think he can be.
Wallace - he'll be more comortable and have more of an impact next year.
Camby - hoping he can stay healthy and provide what he has in the past.
Felton/Smith - looking forward to the overall improvement at PG.
Williams - excited to see what he can bring
Oden - scared, excited, hopeful, etc. etc. etc
Babbitt - would love to see him show us he can contribute since we've heard he's been great in practice.
Roy - hoping he'll be more comfortable in his role and the offseason will help the knees a little.
HCP - his replays will still suck
Nate - hoping for a faster paced offense and improved defense.
