After the game on comcasts "Talking Ball" a female fan suggested calling Armon's Johnson's new nickname should be the "Hammer". I like his aggressiveness and his current situation on the team. I partially agree. :D :ghoti:

Rice and MB have been calling him that the whole road trip, I like it! STOP.......... HAMMER TIME!

I thought it was already decided. Adam Bjarnaegnensen was saying he needs a nic-name, maybe he's just not in the know.

Armon Gilliam was "The Hammer". If you want to copy it I guess it's okay.

Yes, Gilliam was the Hammer, but it's not exactly unprecedented for a name to get recycled -- Dwight Howard getting the Super man label when Shaq had it, comes to mind.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA! Duh, my bad. Jetlag.........

The Tarantula! I heard that a few times on teh tweeters.

How about "hopefully a good young prospect, but let's give him some time to develop and forge his identity, therefore organically suggesting a nickname"?

I think it has a ring. Try describing, aloud, an imaginary game call involving AJ using that nickname. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the results.

You've got my vote. :check:

I know the female caller and they have been calling him Armon Hammer ( arm & Hammer) since Summer league.

You're just a blast at parties, aren't you? :devilwink:

How about "Fire Marshall", because he shuts shit down????

Does anyone else think he kind of looks like Eric Snow? (physically speaking)

Of course I am. I've tried using that nickname in imaginary game calls at parties...it kills.

But, TBH, I don't think I'm taking an anti-fun position. I like nicknames...I just think that ones given to players the moment they enter the league or join the team tend to sound forced. I prefer a nickname that proceeds from an appreciation of the player's style.

A guy that comments on Barrett's blog came up with Armonizer. I kind of like that. He Armonized the Bucks!

I think his Nickname should be "Jack"
Or "ballpeen"

Or take another route, and call him "The Deodorizer"
