Shams Charania:

BREAKING: The Cleveland Cavaliers are trading De'Andre Hunter to the Sacramento Kings for Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis, sources tell ESPN. The three-team deal includes the Chicago Bulls acquiring Kings forward Dario Saric and two future second-round picks

What might be interesting is what the Cavs do next. That roster has an insane amount of guards on it that need a lot of playing time.

Schroder might be the best player to play for 10+ teams.
Jim Jackson says hi

Glad we are NOT on this list!

I'd expect all of Den, Philly, Tor, Phx, Orlando will make minor moves to just duck under. Philly is 1.2m over and the others are all less than a million over - so it will get them the 13.8 million if they can duck it as well as avoid a potential future season with repeater penalties.

Not sure if any other teams will duck it, the Rockets, Lakers, Clippers are all only 6-7 million over.

Cavs are way over, and Warriors, Celtics, Knicks, Mavs, Wolves all over by 12+ million too.

Glad we are NOT on this list!

Blazers have hardly paid any since 2003

2004 $0 luxury tax
2005 $0 luxury tax
2006 $0 luxury tax
2007 $0 luxury tax
2008 $5 m
2009 $0 luxury tax
2010 $2 m
2011 $0 luxury tax
2012 $0 luxury tax
2013 $0 luxury tax
2014 $0 luxury tax
2015 $0 luxury tax
2016 $0 luxury tax
2017 $0 luxury tax
2018 $15 m
2019 $5 m
2020 $0 luxury tax
2021 $0 luxury tax
2022 $0 luxury tax
2023 $0 luxury tax
2024 $0 luxury tax
2025 $0 luxury tax
2026 $0 luxury tax

So yeah Paul Allen might have blown through payroll in the early 2000's - but its been a long time since the Blazers were anything but a small market spending team.

Hoping that changes with Dundon if the talent ever warrants such.

Meanwhile look at some of the top franchises on that list;
Warriors $693 million
Clippers $401 million
Nets $312 million
Suns $289 million
Knicks $287 million
Lakers $266 million
Bucks $223 million
Celtics $214 million
Mavs $212 million

Most those franchises have won title(s)
Outside Detroit in 2004 (really before luxury tax rules became what they are today) none of the bottom 9 teams have won a title.

The bottom half of luxury teams are just devoid of titles. Spurs are the one exception paying the 10th smallest luxury tax but with titles. Toronto also won a title.

I didn’t realize Javale McGee was playing professional basketball in Australia.

@DUB Do you have an NBL team which you support?

@DUB lives on an island of criminals! I’m quite sure he/she is just trying to stay alive day in and day out. Dogging rapists and thugs and whatnot will take a toll and they don’t have time for things like sports.
