don't know if someone already made this. I'll merge it if someone had.

New Year’s prediction:

NBA shuts down season as a “60-day pause” in attempts to “wait and see” how covid outbreak develops and to “protect our fans and players.”

Plans cannot be put into place for a second “bubble” because of player grumbling and negotiation roadblocks with Disney.

Season resumes over July and August in a tournament pitting the best records against the worst records - it’s a double-elimination for current playoff standing teams with all other teams playing single-elimination. Major upsets take place and Chicago winds up playing Utah for the title with the Jazz earning their first NBA title.

Clean sweep takes place in Portland and Vulcan places the franchise on the market for sale with NBA owners agreeing to expansion to Seattle in a secret deal cut with Allen to emerge as owner of the new Sonics and later an investor group headed by Clyde Drexler, Hakeem Olajuwon and Jeff Bezos purchasing the Blazers for a whopping $3.2 billion from Allen.

Lillard signs on with the Chicago Bulls and leads them over the top - and as he predicted - Lillard wins a ring in 2023! Just with another team in red & black!

Sadly, Portland becomes the “Charlotte Hornets” of the West for the balance of the 2020’s.

2022 Prediction - Happy New Year!

Um, so how exactly do you propose that Lillard signs with the Bulls, considering he's under contract for another 3 seasons?

The Bulls move to Vegas and become the Gamblers, the Blazers move to Chicago and become the Bulls, Lillard re-signs with the new Bulls.

Wait. You’d rather have the #1 pick than win a championship?

If we are strictly talking about this year, which the person you replied to is inferring, then yes for this year.

He may have answered it in the wrong way and not known ..

Wait. This year, you’d rather get the #1 pick instead of winning a championship? That’s bonkers.

Do you see us winning the championship? In an honest place, in all reality, do you see it?

In just the other thread (the game thread) you said what would lead most to believe that this idea is in fact "not bonkers" lol.

You’re not understanding. He said he’d rather us get the #1 pick than win a championship this year. Doesn’t matter if it’s realistic. I’d rather get #1 pick over a first round exit but not over a championship. Are you bonkers?

I don't think he was saying he'd rather have the #1 pick than win the championship. I think he was being sardonic and implying that the only way the Blazers could "win it all" is if "win it all" means winning the #1 pick. That's how I read it.

View attachment 43550 It’s so sad to see i him get so old and slow down like this.

It's inspiring to see him lead his superstar cast to the top of the league at age 37.

That said, I don't think anyone said that James wouldn't be good--it was that, at his age, he breaks down a lot more than he did at 17 or 27 and that's continued to prove true as he's already had an injury this year.

Are you trying to make me look up “Sardonic “?
Yeah. I was not being serious about much.

Portland is one of the worst in the league, no question.

Damn. The Blazers have to go 28-19 the rest of the way just to make .500
Think about that?

Curry and the Warriors are just insane. So jealous

Seems like Wood is just a mess, emotionally that is. No wonder he is being traded every year. It's shocking to think you can't just go with the flow when tens of millions are at stake. Horrible attitudes.

Perhaps like Kevin Love, it's tough to get up for every game when you are getting hammered. Remind anyone of this years' Blazer roster?

Now that Cleveland is a Top-4 team, miraculously, Love is healed an contributing in a big manner again for the Cavs.
