The circle jerk dunking on Chet is a little weird to me. Guy just turned 24 and sucked against arguably the best player in the world in the western finals. I expect he will work hard this offseason to improve.

That's why we should trade for him!

I’m not saying he sucks I’m just saying he’s only about as good as Clingan! That’s pretty decent!

If they want Giannis they have the pieces to do it. Something like Hartenstein, Dort, J Will and a shit ton of picks for Giannis would probably get it done.
Hartenstein & Dort are UFA. And neither of those players would be the kind of players a team like Milwaukee would want for 3 seasons (IIRC that is the minimum for a S&T)

The Bucks would have to really want Holmgren (and after tonight's game that may be unlikely.

it would have to be something like Holmgren + Cason Wallace + Jared McCain/Ajay Mitchell + 12th pick + 17th Pick + 38th pick + 2027 Clippers swap + 2028 Dallas 1st + more favorable of 2029 Denver/OKC first's

and I can't imagine a good mesh between the ball-dominant pair of SGA & Giannis

I think Chet is a much better player than Clingan, but I definitely think I was a little too hard on Clingan after round 1. Wemby is just THE dude. He is generational.

Bodes well for Clingans future.

I expected more from Chet. If the Blazers traded for him, he would be their highest-paid player. However, despite his play this series, I still like his game,
but he isn't even a Robin. He is fine as a #3 on offense. ( or maybe a # 4) He just isn't a go-to player.

He just turned 24.

Calling him a #3 or #4 is selling him short.

Both Dort and Hartenstein have club options for next season. Those guys would be used to match salaries. I think the picks would be the value the Bucks would receive for Giannis and there are a lot of picks that OKC could trade (you said 10 FRPs). The trade works on ESPN's trade machine.

OKC has second apron issues.
I posted how they can pull it off on the prior page ( quoted below)

I think this is the destination.

Cut IHeart & Kendrick Williams (get below the 2nd apron)

Chet + Dort + Wiggins + 17 + 2-'27 picks for Giannis

Should leave OKC with ~$18M for 3 roster spots ( try & resign IHart for $10M + #12 + min roster spots for a ring chasing C)

As far as I can tell, they don't have those second apron issues until the new league year. Right now they aren't even in the lux tax. So if they're willing to deal with those second apron issues going forward they can make the trade I proposed between now and the draft.

I don’t think OKC is gonna panic and sell the future for 31 year old Giannis. They played this series without their 2nd best player and 3rd best distributor. They will most likely package the 2 1s this year to move up, I’m thinking Mara who I believe will go at 8 to someone.

And Wemby is 22! On a championship run, Chet proved to be unreliable against him. You can’t be happy if you’re an OKC fan; you will have to go through this guy every year (or meet him in the finals when OKC moves to the east after expansion) for as long as you’re good enough to face him!

Clingan is also younger and has more room to grow. Wemby isn’t generational, he’s LIFETIME. We will not see his like again.

Perplexed how he got 3rd team over Deni

As I've said before: Chet on OKC is Chris Bosh on the Heatles. If you just saw Bosh's Heat career, you'd have no concept of how much he looked like a franchise player in Toronto. Chet could easily be a 20-10 player on another team, he's just an unselfish team player. Shit like this is why unselfish team play is so rare.

I will bet you anything you like that Giannis is never on the Thunder. He'd hate it, and it's not a Presti move. Because if it did happen, the Thunder would be worse, and older. They don't need to panic unduly: they were missing Jalen Williams AND Ajay Mitchell for most of that series. Besides, the Spurs now are just like the 77 Blazers, and we know what happened to their big man the following year.

HOWEVER, I do see them doing something to try to counter Wemby. Maybe go after Timelord, maybe go after Edey, maybe target Aday Mara in the draft. Just not Giannis.

I wonder if Chet will always be more of a regular season player due to his inability to handle physicality. If he is going to survive in the playoffs at his rail thin size, he'd better develop a lot more confidence and "not taking shit" energy.

As I said in my post, I like his game. I am just saying he is not a #2, or he would have taken more than 2 shots in 33 minutes. With Williams out, they needed him to score, and he didn't. And I don't want to hear it was because of Wemby. I watched every minute of that game, and Wemby was not covering him the whole game. The SA guards shut him down, too.

Again, love his defense and love his game. I'd love it if the Blazers had him, but I don't see him as a #2.
