Stein: Just going online and on SportsCenter: Hawks have agreed in principle to deal Marvin Williams to Utah for Devin Harris to shed even more $

They already got Mo Williams late last week.

Not too bad.

Williams/ Watson
Hayward/Burks
Marvin/Howard
Favors/Millsap
Al Jeff/ Kanter

Mo Williams facilitating an offense.

Oh man. That should be fun to watch.

salary dump to clear up room for next summer. the plan is clear. Max offers to CP3 + D12.

:MARIS61:

watch them try to unload Horford for someone on a one year deal. :ghoti:

Ferry might win GM of the decade after today

Hawks will have a ton of cap room next year, are Dwight's hometown, and have his AAU buddy Josh Smith.

Wonder what they'll get for Horford.

Hey, Horford can be our consolation prize if we don't get Hibbert...

we don't have anyone that expires next year to cover the contract. they'll only trade for a salary dump.

D-Will to re-up with the Nets: 5 year deal w/ an option to opt out after year three.

If Hibbert is matched we have the cap room to take on Horford's contract today. It's like an expiring contract that instantly expires. Way more valuable!

I think I remember reading in the new CBA you can only have an opt out for the final year so after year 4. You can't have one two years before the deal ends.

ATL doesn't need the cap room now, they need it next summer for when D12 and CP3 are free agents. they can at least stash some young talent or get more assets.

they could, of course, just try to offer a horford + ??? package to Orlando. D12 has the leverage, he can just get traded, screw (the lakers) over and then re-sign with ATL.

Danny Ferry has done an incredible job in his first few weeks.

Shedding Joe Johnson/Marvin Williams with enough cap next summer to sign D12 or CP3.

Bucher had an interesting idea: Horford/Teague/picks for Howard makes sense for both sides -- sign CP3 next summer.

Nets have three players under contract for next season. Let that marinate

Where was this Danny Ferry in Cleveland? LeBron would still be there

I'd hold the praise until after Ferry rebuilds. Breaking it apart is easy. Building back up is the hard part.

David Aldridge: Total Hawks savings thus far (yes, I'm assuming Marvin Williams wouldn't leave $7.5M on the table next year): a little more than $96M

Clips still making moves: Jamal Crawford to visit Tues, Clips to offer Billups contract; interested in C Ryan Hollins;http://www.latimes.com/sports

Looks like Eric Gordon will be getting a max contract (offer) from the Suns.

Le sigh.

True. Ask the Knicks.

Fez- I love your avatar. So exciting!! Please let it happen.

Uhhh..he saved the franchise $95 million dollars in one day.....

They'll end up paying nearly as much money to someone else, so it's not really saving money unless they can quickly improve on what was already a pretty good team.
