Right now, this franchise has taken a couple of steps back due to self-inflicted wounds. A championship seems further off for me at any time since we won the #1 pick in 2007. Good teams prepare long-term strategies and patiently execute them. We just tore up ours for no good reason.

Hate to say it but I thought Canzano's piece (last night/today) was brilliant and probably closer to the truth than anyone else has come.

Agreed. KP was great at managing down and bad at managing up in a political environment.

Part of me had always wondered if KP's shirt-hanging-out, casual look was kind of an "up yours, Vulcan" fashion statement. (while, at the same time, a connecting point of sorts with Blazer fans.)

His intent was not to humiliate him , so stop trying to incite the masses john.

B: He also keeps harping on ZERO championships in 22 years. Come on, how many owners have won in those 22 years. I count 7. Not a long list.

Now he's fired the guy who's brought the Titanic back to the surface without having a better plan in place because he didn't name check Larry Miller during radio interviews.

It's a fucking disgrace.

Did he call him a failure? Or just point out the fact that he hasn't exactly been a roaring success?

Spending piles and piles of money does not alone make you a good owner. In fact one could argue it makes you a rather shit one especially when you haven't sniffed the 2nd round in almost a decade.

Starting the day Miller came on board this team's management has been chaotic, embarrassing, and pointless.

The wrong players are gone, the wrong managers are gone, and the names mentioned to replace them all fail to inspire my hopes.

This team needs a new owner so bad.

I don't blame him either - I might well have made the same choice in his shoes. It was a choice, however - he didn't have to stick around.

We only have the mid-level exception and I guarantee it will be accepted by someone who wants to win and play in front of a packed house. Just put Camby and Roy in charge of recruiting free agents. (And Howard if he is still on the team) Do you guys really think players care about the suits?

Not one bit. Luckily for us, Pritchard left his successor with a playoff roster and the full MLE for this summer. Our roster is so packed right now, though, a trade will need to be made to even use the MLE, unless we start cutting 2nd round picks like Pendergraph and Johnson. Potential GMs may care about the chaos, but I'm guessing the players don't care other than losing the GM who clearly believed in them. As long as the checks don't stop, I assume they'll get over it.
