I bought one, and read the information and it said "do not burn with anything else" what about paper, like private information I would shred, if I had a shredder. Anyone know if this would cause the fire to sputter or something?

To the best of my knowledge, it's not a good idea to burn anything in a fireplace that's not specifically meant to be burned in the fireplace.

Whatever toxins those things release when burned end up basically trapped in an enclosed space and you end up breathing that air.
