At least we're not the Suns or Mavs or Kings hahaha

Dallas must have had pretty high certainty that he was going to opt out after next year... But even then, there is no way this was the best deal out there.

Wonder how many teams knew Dallas was willing to move him.

I mean, both those teams still have multiple players better than us.....

No way man. Phoenix is the ultimate treadmill. They're old, they're in cap hell, and they're simply not good enough to win the title anymore. They're in absolute purgatory now. I wouldn't trade our situation with them for anything.

I read the Mavs are tired of Luka's lack of conditioning and balked at giving him something like 348 million on his next deal in the summer. decided to go another direction with the franchise and probably figured they weren't winning with him this season either.

Trade deadline aint over yet. This Luka trade is just the appetizer. Watch Embiid get moved
Embiid to Lakers for LeBron? LeBron said he didn’t know about the AD trade. They’re keep him away from decisions.

I think Levine, Ingram, Butler, Randall, Draymond, maybe even Zion could get moved now.

They finally realized the same thing we did. He's a Pillsbury doughboy.

Yeah, I'd be irate... I actually am fucking pissed. Fuck the Lakers, seriously. How the fuck do they trade a washed AD, one FRP, one second, Max Christie and Jalen Hood-Schifino for a 25 year old Luka and they get Kleber who is a decent stretch big off the bench.

The fucking Lakers always get the most favorable trades. Got what they wanted out of AD when they traded for him. Got Pau for virtually nothing to get two more titles with Kobe. This shit feels rigged... I know it's not but how the fuck do they get this trade?

The Pillsbury doughboy who can pass better than anyone in the league, who scores at ease, who rebounds on both ends of the court, who isn't a great defender but is crafty and no a total liability and who is a 25 year old who probably has a couple of MVPs in him. Honestly what if somehow the Lakers get this guy to do strength and conditioning... what a fucking nightmare that would be for every other player in the league. SMH. Lakers with another absolute robbery and Jerry West isn't even a part of the Mavs organization.

To be fair.... AD isn't washed. He's still really good. But he's 31 and he's a very old 31. The Mavs traded Luka for a guy that might not be playing in 3-4 years. And they only got one pick. It makes no sense.

Sorry, washed was the wrong word for sure. I just think his best days are behind him and he could be looking at a steep decline. Luka on the other hand as hard as it is to imagine probably still hasn't played his best ball. Again though, you're right, "washed" was the wrong term to use.

I will say this, I thought the Mavs were absolutely stupid for trading for Kyrie. It almost got them a championship. So there's a chance that there's something we don't know about Luka. I still think they should have gotten more value for him. The Lakers should have given them Reaves and another first.

I still just don't know how the Lakers have historically got such great players at a bargain. Why would any GM not put the screws to the team that has the easiest time out of every team in the league, signing all nba players as free agents???

You make a good point though, maybe there is some missing information that not just the Mavs know but may be well known around the league. If you were going to trade Luka, you wouldn't just take the first offer you got, right? They had to have made some calls to other teams to see if they could get more... you would think.

Once again, an NBA superstar ends up in LA. This is why Portland will never win another title. It’s a two-tier system, and Portland has always been on the bottom tier.

I think Luka’s lack of conditioning and his injuries must have made the idea of paying him all that money unappetizing for the Mavericks. Still, it’s an almost unthinkable trade, because players like Doncic just don’t come around very often. A shocker.

Whether you like or dislike Joe Cronin, at least we aren't the Suns with their awful situation or the Mavs making one of the absolute dumbest trades in NBA history.

Go Blazers.

Two teams we were all jealous of just a few years back. Things can change in a hurry in the NBA.

Apparently none! They approached the Lakers alone. WTabsoluteF?

Undiscussed loser in all this: LeBron. This is like Jordan/Pippen... wearing concrete boots. He's got to be either thinking retirement or asking for a trade. That team would be one of the worst defensively in history.

Apparently some NBA player texted with a reporter: "imagine how much the Mavs have to hate Luka to do this". They certainly fucked him out of his SuperMax.

What in the actual fuck? So 25 year old Luka ends up on the fucking Lakers for old injured AD? How does this shit always happen?
Don't beat yourself up unless Luka reverses his current steady progression into Hot Plate Williams. If he gets mad enough to get into shape then this is Pau Gasol all over (minus the other team getting Marc Gasol).

Anyone got any recent photos of Luka? Maybe he's been on an all-milkshake diet behind the scenes to put pressure on the Mavs.

Honestly if I’m the Lakers I trade LeBron now get a couple young players to play with Luka and if possible 1st rounder. If im not mistaken Lakers have like one 1st rounder over next five years. When LeBron falls off who do they pair with Luka?

Lakers aren’t contenders now not without any bigs? Also think Luka can opt out soon or contracts up soon. Everyone acting like Lakers won but I don’t see how they can build around Luka

It's the behind closed doors nature of the trade that is so concerning. If they open up Luka to the highest bidder, no way do Lakers end up with him - and everyone knows it.

There is some outside chance that the league does not sign off on the trade.
