Some unfunny, arrogant and self-absorbed "comedian".

He is the guy from Religulous.

He's the liberal version of Rush Limbaugh, with slightly better people skills.

I'm not a member of any religions he bashes.

That doesn't really matter. He bashes all religions. Because they are all fake. I treat all fake religions equally as well. :tsktsk:

Rephrase: I am not a part of any religious (demanding blind faith) organization.

for the record maher doesn't call himself an atheist and has made comments indicating he might be more of a deist. he's just anti religion.

Those of blind faith also believe that atheists will be united in the end. Sounds like a subject all can agree on!:devilwink:

Maher is miserable. I've seen him out on the town here several times, he's a shell of a man and lives his cynical life true to size.

I thought Religious was great and funny, but the guy annoys me otherwise.

He doesn't believe in Jesus and what he calls a "Space Daddy who sits in the sky granting prayers like the make-a-wish foundation". He's also a strong believer in evolution.

He's an Atheist.

I like his show primarily because of the guests he brings on and the discussions he allows to take place. I thought his movie was a bit of a missed opportunity. I think he tried to emphasize his points by bringing on the craziest religious nutjobs he could find, but IMO it added nothing more than "haha look at how retarded those people are!" entertainment value.

I've never really understood what was so appealing about atheism? I mean, there might be some immediate impact, but what's the upside? If atheism were a draft pick, it'd be Tyler Hansbrough.

Would theism be the Len Bias?

I would say it would be more akin to drafting Oden. Might be all you hoped for, might be a terrible pick, but you probably won't know for quite a while.

doesn't rule out deism obviously.

so are a lot of die-hard theists. irrelevant.

He's an Atheist.

only when it comes to traditional religious fundamentalist versions of god. he does believe some sort of god exists. you could say he's no less than a deist, and possibly an agnostic theist.

lol nicely done.

My brother and his wife recently saw a Bill Maher show, and thought it was hilarious (except her taking offense to some sexist jokes). My brother said it was great though.

he's okay... I know where he's coming from and take his stuff with the necessary salt. His show is sometimes better then that dependent on the guest... the new rules segment is when I start looking at the menu for whats next
