Bryce Cotton scored a team-high 22 points to lead the Austin Spurs to a 104-82 victory over the Texas Legends in their season opener Friday night at Cedar Park Center. Atlanta Hawks assignee Walter Tavares recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Lamar Patterson, who was assigned to Austin today, posted eight points, nine rebounds and five assists. Deshaun Thomas recorded 12 points, and three other players, Jarell Eddie, Cady Lalanne and Demetri McCamey, also posted double figures in scoring, each contributing 11 points.

The game saw one lead change with Austin taking the lead in the first quarter, 24-21, and staying ahead of Texas for the remainder of the game. They led by as many as 34 in the contest, shooting 50.6 percent (41-81) from the field.

Jamil Wilson posted a double-double for Texas with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Tu Hollway paced the Legends with 13 points, and Allen Durham also added 12.
