Then is was like "Hey guys, FYI Roy isn't going to start, he's retiring" or "We stand behind Oden and are hopeful that he will return next season" then next season "Oden has complications and he's out again, but we will see him again fans... Renew your tickets" to "Blazers waive Oden" LOL!

I never said we should retire Roy's number because he gave his body to the franchise. That was Hail. When Oden did the things Roy did for this team as a leader, allstar and team MVP; then you have a point. Until then, Oden was a complete failure.

It's not about the stats MM. Hell look at who are retired already? Roy changed this franchise from being a shit hole of a place to play, to a darling of the NBA. But hey, you don't want him retired, then you are completely entitled to your opinion. I am just going to have to strongly disagree.

Sorry, this franchise has already gone too far with jersey retirements. Loved everything Brandon did for us, but you gotta give me something more than a few first round playoff exits in order to make it into the rafters.

Maybe for you. I found the Roy years boring to watch, with the notable exception of the last minute in close games. He was certainly the master in those situations.

I prefer an exciting uptempo game, which he pretty much prevented by his insistence on monopolizing the ball.

Probably the highest high I've ever experienced at the Rose Garden, maybe you had to be there, but it was definitely one of the Greatest Blazer Moments in History. Rocky Theme music mixed with Roy's unimaginable return was truly Epic.

As we slip into the dark period once again (where many of us had to endure 5+ years of a dreadful team), how can one not appreciate just how much Roy brought to this franchise. He alone was worth the ticket price to Blazer games.

Now . . . well now I just wish we had a player like Roy.
