http://break.com/index/baby_shoots_his_first_gun.htmlIf you look at the comments section, you can see there are two sides on the video.The people who think that this is good gun safety, and the parents are smart for doing this.And the people who think this is the worst thing for the child, and can result in shootings, accidental or not.I found it interesting that the two groups are thinking totally opposite. I'd like to continue the debate here to see what opinions form.
 
This is in no way dangerous or foolish at all. The dad was holding the gun with his son. I mean, really, it's pretty f*cking hard to mess up shooting a gun unless you are an idiot. It's like using an oven, it's only dangerous if you stick your head in it or leave it on overnight. Kids learn things better at a young age. If the child is taught properly, it is not a problem. None of us know the family, so we don't have anything to judge as far as I'm concerned. All I saw was a video of a dad showing his young son how to properly shoot a fairly small firearm. And the kid had proper protection on. It's better than a lot of parents who stick their kids in front of the tv or let them get kidnapped in the front yard.
 
The only people that have an issue with that are stupid/pissy liberals who complain about everything.

Showing them how it works, and how it feels when they are little would prevent them from finding daddy's gun on the floor, not knowing the dangers or how to use it safely, and shoot themselves or someone else accidentally.
 
I think it is kind of smart. You could tell he hated it and it could make him hate guns for years to come. Which is good.
 
1. I am 99.99% sure that the dad's focus wasn't to make him hate guns.2. WHY would it be a good thing that the kid hates guns?

I'm against it because I'm against gun use. Pointless. What's the kid need to learn how to use a gun for? So he can grow up and shoot people?

Guns are for cowards who can't do close range combat. Any bi*ch can just shoot someone. So if nobody used guns this kid wouldn't need one to protect his family.

You know that basketball team I coach? Those kids always wander off, lose attention, or whatever. And they do care about the game. When they lose, they say that they suck. They also cry frequently when something doesn't go right. Just the armed forces having guns sure didn't help them. That's the point of the 2nd amendment. To protect ourselves from danger, and to protect from the government if needed.

Theres a ton of kids picking up f*cking pistols, and shooting kids at schools with them. Hicks like you need to shut the F*ck up.And I'm pretty sure the definition of a conspiracy is a plan to do something, and im pretty sure the terrorists who blew up the world trade centers were a conspiracy. they didnt just get on the plan, high jack it, and accidentally fly it into new york city and the twin towers..

You honestly think if you teach a kid gun safety at a young age it means they will take a gun to school and shoot someone? That makes no sense. It's good to teach kids how guns work so they don't find it on accident and shoot themselves because they don't know how to see if it's on safety or not or if it's loaded. Also are you retarded? When you say its a conspiracy people are gonna obviously think your talking about America doing it.
 
despite the derogatory statement towards my kin folk, I'm going to add my two cents in this convo.I know this has been said a lot, but "guns don't kill people, people kill people" People have been killing people since there have been people on Earth, firearms are just one of the newest ways inwhich we can achieve a kill. People who want to ban guns tend to be heavy supporters in other causes such as Animal rights, or criminal rights. These people see guns as the root cause to all these other problems. Banning guns would not solve any of the gun related problems we have in this country, most criminals who use guns to commit a crime couldn't legally purchase a gun in the first place. they get their guns via blackmarket or robberies. so its safe to say that banning guns from the honest civilians in this country wouldn't stop the problem. Another problem with guns is that a lot of stupid people have them, these people are stupid because they see movies with guns are try to imitate what they saw. these people tend to be under 16, so they really don't know better. thats why I do support programs to keep guns away from children. I also think the parents have a lot of responsibilty, when they own a gun, they should either teach their kids about gun safty, or keep the guns away from their stupid children.I've been around guns all my life, I've been hunting, and I've just been out target shooting at dirt mounds. My Dad is the one who really taught me all about guns, he's been a hunter all of his life, plus he opperated a 50 cal. on a helicopter gunship in 'Nam, so he knows what he's talking about when it comes to guns. I feel very blessed that I was able to get basically the same training that a Marine would get in bootcamp reguarding firearms. Now I fully understand that not everybody is going to get this same type of schooling, but a lot of it is just basic common sense. if something is used to kill an animal with, chances are its going to kill a human being as well, but unfortinatly some people aren't smart enough to figure that out.As for the video, personally I would have waited until my kid was older.
