Since we left Saturday, and haven't been around, how is the playoff fever back in Portland? Is there a buzz? Signs up everywhere? Everybody wearing their gear? It's weird being on the road to start a series, cause you never quite feel the RipCity fever or energy away from home.

Haven't seen many signs at all but I have heard a lot of buzz around town.

Yeah, I think people are interested, but it's not a big buzz. Winning a game tonight would definitely up the excitement level.

I could be wrong, but this is about the most subdued I've seen the fan base for the playoffs. I think the Blazers are going to have to win a game to help the fans believe.

Agree with the above.

Havent seen anything downtown. Maybe the fever will strike tonight beflre the game.

Did the game 3 tix at least sell out?

Perhaps people have no hope after how poorly we played in game 1?

As I went out to get a bite this morning:

..... "Hey Ripcityboy. Blazer game on tonight."

Two minutes later --

"Hey man. You watchin' the Blazer game?"

"How about them Blazers!"

So yeah. In my personal experience, I see that people are thinking about it. Don't know if that counts as a ground swell of fan interest though.

Ya, I'm here in LA. I was just wondering what the vibe was back home.
What's the vibe in LA? Are they acting like it's just a cake walk? Or has the playoff atmosphere sank in yet?

They lost the first game badly. There was not much expectation to begin with but now most are watching but keeping it real.
Now if they win one tonight then things could change very quickly.

I think a lot of people were happy that we made it, because nobody thought we would, but I'm not sure many people think we're going to actually win the series. If people actually thought we had a chance, I think they might be more pumped.

I think its the scheduling. We didn't know our opponent until Wednesday, the game was on a Sunday night which is kind of weird too. First home game is on a Saturday night. Just weird vibes all around.

I think this season is just more relaxed and laid back. Doesn't mean we won't be hyped for games 3 and 4!

Just based on what I see on TV this year, the home crowds have sucked compared to years past. So many empty lower bowl seats and definitely not the same level of noise. Hope the playoffs bring out the energy from previous years.

The Rose Garden crowds have looked "subdued" all season long, at least on TV. Definitely not the home court advantage we've had in years past.

People in LA don't care about the Clippers for the most part. This is s Lakers town even when they suck.

New Jack Transplants.

Dude at the store yesterday noticed my shirt, and asked me what I thought the team needed to do to win. We sat and talked about game two for a couple minutes. I'd definitely say that there is a buzz about the playoffs.

Has anyone else harbored an irrational fear that a lot of Cali transplant clipper fans bought tickets to game 3/4?

Lots of corporate tickets given away to employees who may not have that much vested interest in the team.

Get ready for the bandwagon raiders fans too

To be fair, I've seen plenty of Raider jerseys over the years, even when they sucked. It's pretty much Raider and Niner territory, with a few weirdo white guy Seahawk fans that have cropped up the last 3 or so years.

I caughtthe tail end of gm1 SA vs Memphis. 3-4 minutes left and the seats were empty by the floor. I was floored...

Why? There's a legit 1% chance memphis can even win. If there ever was a surefire 100% win in a series, it's SA. lol. I wouldn't waste my money on that either, I'd wait until the playoffs actually start.
