I think maybe he needs to shed that weight and get back to skinny quick Greg like in Ohio State. I was watching highlights of him in college and he was so fast and so skinny. Maybe all this weight and muscle is making him sluggish and not the same old player? I don't know. Curious what your thoughts are. Maybe Greg needs to get skinny again?

(and you all know when I say skinny Greg I am not talking like Batum skinny... just back to college Greg weight.)

Greg needs to fully recover from MF surgery -- that's it really. Look at how awful Amare looked the first year and a half back from his procedure; Greg is battling a lot of things, and his weight/size is just a part, not the whole, of what he needs to do in order to get on (and stay on) the floor.

Patience young grasshopper.

Yep, I think he shoudl get down to around 270 even if he is a little under that...

It would help him get weight off his knee, help get him in better shape, help him run the floor and be more athletic.

He isn't a guy who needs to bulk up because he is naturally strong. He should get in the same body style that I saw him in during the NCAA title game vs. Florida. He looked great.

I would also like to see GO back in his Ohio State shape. Last I read, GO's down to 273lbs. I can't really believe that. In an interview after he had his tonsil removed, GO claimed he played at 275lbs during the end of his Ohio State tenure. He looks a lot beefier now than when he was playing in his NCAA championship game.

If he was 273 at the end of Ohio State, then he has got to be over 300 now!!! He looks so much bigger right now.

I think he'll play his best are around 300. He just needs to be healed up. At 300 he will be too powerful for anyone to handle.

No kidding:

(Yes, he is getting swatted by Chris Paul.)

Just about everyone who's expressed an opinion on Oden this year has said that. But has anyone from the Blazers admitted that or said that he will try to lose weight? You've got to wonder why, with all these trainers around, they allowed Oden to go crazy in the weight room in the first place. Did they just think "it can't do any harm" or "it's good that he's got something to do while he's rehabilitating"? Did NOBODY with the Blazers worry about all that upper body weight on those kind-of-skinny legs?

That's alot of pounding for a long lasting career. A young Shaq looks so much thinner than Oden. Why does Oden have to play as big as a 30yr old Shaq. Odens looks heavier than Sabonis and Sabas was several inches taller.

Greg needs to be thinner and quicker. He'll probably stay in the lineup longer.
