Blazers need to review their film footage when they had a 5 game winning streak in December when they beat, Toronto 92 - 74, San Antonio 98 - 90, New Orleans 95 - 94, Denver 101 - 93, and Phoenix 96 - 93, all at home. This team is an absolute mess.
Season gone, this team is going nowhere for playoffs. Lets bake it, get a draft, ditch our expiring contracts such as Nolan Smith, Babbitt, and Elliot Williams.

We don't have Wes, Nic is nursing an injury, and our bench is still horrible.

Don't need to watch film to know that.

At least watching film can show what the team did right regardless to our bench not performing. This team is losing heart and denies to admit it. The bench needs to step it up because its obvious the Wizards and Suns did it.

I understand what you're saying man, but the team just isn't very good. It's just that simple.

You mentioned Phoenix, let's look at the bench production last night

Blazers - 7 points

Suns - 40 points

Our bench is terrible, and this is a recurring theme throughout the season. Now Wes is out, which makes it even worse. You don't need to go deeper into this to realize why we're losing. Our starters outplayed their starters by a pretty wide margin, but how are you going to overcome a 33 point differential between benches? Plus, Batum has been shooting poorly since hurting his wrist. 5-14 last night. That isn't helping.

The thing is, Phoenix's bench isn't even very good, but our bench is so bad that we make them look like All-Stars.

besides injuries the starters are worn down from playin so many minutes, film ain't gonna do much

The Blazers need to rest their starters, play all the rookies, try their hardest and lose every game to land in the top 5 lottery

I don't even care about wins at this point. I pretty much only care if Dame does well, and my interest stops at that.

I'd like to see all this potential everyone thinks Leonard has. I literally would love to be proven a bigger idiot than I already am. I'd love to see Stotts pull Claver aside and tell him to shoot the ball every time he touches it, and hope that helps his confidence too.

I think it's hard for coaches to willingly tank. Kanales wouldn't buy into it last year, and the only reason we tanked in 2004 was because Pritchard took over the team with the entire purpose of tanking.

Thanks coach.

Maybe Olshey can get the team doctor to write a mandate that our starters need to rest and it's in Nic's best interest to play no more than 20minutes per game and not play any back to backs. Sounds like a logical way for Stotts to be forced to tank.

Or they could just make up some injuries and shut out starters down for the rest of the year (with the exception of Damian).

Two words: Wesley Matthews is important.

This team fails at holding a lead for 3 quarters especially if their opponent has more than 20 wins in their record. The 4th quarter collapse at Memphis was awful to watch on TV. How in the fuck did they blow this game. Its like Portland forgot how to set screens, and simply defend.
A team that is playoff bound has more than 10 wins on the road. Sorry Portland, you are not a playoff team this year with the remaining games on the schedule.

They were killing the Grizzlies on the pick-and-roll game, but that was largely because Allen was benched for most of that time. Jerryd Bayless and Tony Wroten aren't exactly the best defenders out there. The fact that the pick-and-roll game was shut down in the fourth had a lot to do with Allen playing significant minutes.

This... You could tell when the starters aren't closing games like they did earlier in the season. Too many minutes takes its toll like so many have been trying to say earlier in the season.

But I don't know why so many are upset really. I mean who really thought we would have a 6 point lead with 4 minutes to go in the game? I bet many thought we were gonna get blown out. I'm pretty happy we were even in this game. Memphis is a better team and we played them hard in the road.

So does advanced scouting

Yes advanced scouting helps; but we had three starters getting the shots they wanted and shot poorly. Memphis d had nothing to do with missing wide open shots, IMO.

Wide open shots from the exact spot the defense wanted them taken from

So you think this loss had more to do with the other team putting our offense where they wanted us to shoot, or that our offensive shooters weren't hitting the shots they normally make?

I think it was a combination, but Memphis put us in positions on offense that we aren't quite as comfortable with

If only we had Nate with his mid game adjustments; we could have beaten this defensive beast!

We led until the subs played extensive minutes throughout the 4th quarter, and maybe in the 3rd it seemed. I haven't checked. Stotts threw the game.
