Just a thought, but I would have been rolling right now if Mixum had said Paul Allen would die in his predictions.

Sad to hear of Ronan's passing.

Is S2 going to do anything to honour his memory?

Are you kidding me? soccer is an amazing game!
No, it wasn't invented in America, so I guess there's a good reason to talk smack about it, but if you watched some good soccer, or played it, you'd know how fun it is.

Also, the problem might very well be the term "soccer". It just doesn't feel right in my head when I type it. In Hebrew we call it Caduregel, which is a mixture of "Cadur" - the Hebrew word for ball; and "Regel" - the Hebrew word for leg or foot.
The r (in it's hebrew form) is shared by both words so it turns them into one.
I think FOOTBall is the right translation (as far as my hebrew-logic goes) but I'm guessing it isn't really realistic to expect you (Americans) to come up with a different name for Football.
How about calling the game you now call Soccer "Football" and calling the game you now call Football "Smash"? I think Smash is a good name. better than "Soccer"...

BTW, I never played Smash but it Is a fun game to watch on TV, once you know the rules. Baseball and Hockey are the sports I still haven't figured out. In Hockey I can't see the little disc and while I understand where it is most of the time (by watching the players), it still bothers me. Baseball I can watch but in all honesty, it's kind of boring to me.

How about we call both games "BORING". I realized that doesn't distinguish between the two, but I'm not sure there is any need to.

I've watched good soccer, and I still hate it. It's boring. Just guys running around most of the game with not much happening. And I have watched with a soccer fan who told me what was going on, as if I couldn't see it myself. Still boring.
