I'll tell you, if I'm Robertson this has to feel like a kick in the teeth. Personally I'd rather they consentrate on another starter & leave the closer roll to Robertson.

...don't know for sure, but I'm not positive that D-Rob cares one way or the other. He doesn't seem to be the type to be on any sort of ego trip. And since the closer role is up in the air, it may be best to add another set up/closer and see how both perform, and then make a decision as to how to use them.
...I do think that Robertson has at least earned a shot at the closer's job, if he wants it. If he does well as a successor to Mo it could mean more money for him.

I feel that the Yankees should sign him. My reasons are simple, starting pitchers is at a premium. There is no viable solutions in FA. But if we built a super bullpen that would best serve us for 2014. I trust Balfour more than I do Robertson. Balfour would lengthen our pen giving the 9th to him, the 8th to Robertson and committee for portion of the 6th and 7th innings.

I don't mind at all. You're looking to replace a guy in Mo that's irreplacable. If Robertson was to struggle in that role they would need options.

If he could pass the Yankees physical offer a one year deal with maybe an option year. I'm still wondering why Oakland would not resign him, Balfour was a hit with the fans. Then the problems problems with Oriole Physical. If the Yankees sign a closer, better Balfour if he qualifies than Tilt Cap William Tell Rodney.

Yeah I don't want Rodney either. And Balfour has saved 62 of 67 over the last 2 seasons.
