Baron Davis?

God I hope this happens ... not for basketball reasons mind you, but the imagination runs wild thinking about what Baron Davis added to the team would mean to this forum.

You might confuse me with KingSpeed if Oden and Baron are happy and contributing (and the league's playing) in January

I am fine with Diddy, as long as he comes back with 1 or 2 of Verajao, Hickson, #4. Any two of those three makes us a better team going forward, and Diddy is a wash with Miller.....Younger even

THIS. It's obvious he's the cost of is getting Andy or the #4 IMO.

GM Larry Miller has a shitty eye for talent.

Lets see if they follow up Baron with JR Smith.

If this were the good ole days where we had a few useless guys making 10mil+ I'd be all psyched about this deal. But it's not. All of the players that make money on this team are useful. Overall I think I'd be pleased with a Miller for Davis swap. But Davis makes nearly double what Miller does. We've got no trade ballast to send Cleveland's way. We'd have to send useful players like Wesley or Gerald.

The only guy that matches up with Baron's salary from our side is Brandon Roy. I sure as hell don't see Cleveland doing that deal. The Clippers had to send the Cavs their pick (Which ended up being #1 CRAZY!!!) to get out from under Baron's salary for the next two season. They'd want some sort of similar return to continue paying that kind of money for two more seasons and we don't have a lottery pick to give them.

Camby/Miller for Varajeo/Davis and whatever filler necessary, assuming the #4 pick is not involved

Baron makes less than Roy. He also can trade with Miller+Wes or Miller+Batum+(Babbitt or Rudy)

Please correct me if im under the wrong impression....

Would this (prior to June 30) be the last chance for NO to trade Paul for something IF the lockout goes the full year???

LOL at the overvaluing of Batum. Portland 1st round and out

Well when I heard that Chad Buchanan was going to be the interim GM and he openly confessed that his biggest weakness is "falling in love with his own guys" I pretty much guessed that this kind of thing would happen.

There was a time when Baron Davis was one of the top PGs in the league. Unfortunately, that time was a decade ago.

Actually, three years ago, Baron Davis was averaging 21 ppg, 8 apg, 4 rpg, and 2 spg. And only a year before that, he averaged 25 ppg in the playoffs and he won a round, something Miller has never done. When he is motivated, he can play like a top 5 player in the league. He was excited about the Clippers but then Elton Brand left him at the altar and he stopped caring, I think. I would love having Baron Davis around. The lazy version of Baron produces about the same as Andre Miller. Maybe Baron would get excited playing for a playoff team again. I'm in.

Miller, Camby, Batum and our #21 for Davis, Sessions, JJ Hickson and #4. Then I'd try to trade down with the #4 if I think I can get Jonas Valanciunas (franchise center of the future) at 7,8 or 9. And hopefully pick up another pick in the teens to get a pf. Some say that Cleveland took on Davis' contract to get a draft pick (and so wouldn't be interested in salary dump) , not sure if that is true since at the time the pick was expected to be 7 or 8; anyway by now their thinking could have changed.

I think you actually supported that claim: they took Davis to get the #8 pick; why would they give up a better pick to get rid of him? Now, if they were getting Batum and shedding Davis' contract, then maybe the 4 might be up for grabs, but in that case, I doubt they'd give up Hickson.
