I find it interesting that as we near the end of the third, Batum has played a little over 9 minutes while Webster has played 23.

I'd say Batum has proven himself and Nate is giving Webster a chance at real gametime after being out of action last season. Webster is auditioning for playing time and to show he deserves it. Just from what I'm seeing boxscore-wise, he doesn't seem to be overwhelming.

Wheels mentioned it's because he wanted to get Batum and Rudy rest since they played in the Euroleague. If you notice, Batum and Rudy didn't play much the entire game.

Ah, makes sense. Thanks.

I agree with your original thesis. Martell needs the work. Nico doesn't.

And for everyone picking apart their least favorite player (on both teams), just remember it's the first pre-season game of the year. Even Maximum Roy sounds like he's not been stellar. It means nothing. It's practice.

In all honesty, I doubt either one cares who starts. They are both good assets. Personally, I would like to see Webster Start, only because I think his size will be a headache for other teams.
