The Erie BayHawks concluded their three game homestand with a loss to the visiting Texas Legends on Tuesday night. Texas was the more aggressive team and was rewarded with a large discrepancy in three throws as they had 34 attempts to only 15 for the BayHawks. The Legends never trailed in the second half and downed the BayHawks by a final score of 106-97.

Erie (22-19) controlled the first quarter and took a three point advantage into the second stanza. Reigning NBA Development League MVP Justin Dentmon and former BayHawk Christian Eyenga each scored eight points in the second quarter to put Texas (18-22) ahead by two at the break.

Dentmon pitched in with 12 more points in the third quarter and Texas grew their lead to nine as the teams entered the final 12 minutes. Sean Singletary buried a three-pointer with four minutes remaining in the fourth to give the Legends a 13 point lead, their largest of the game. The BayHawks cut the deficit to seven with under a minute remaining but eventually fell by a final score of 106-97.

Nick Covington paced the BayHawks with 26 points on the night. Cory Higgins added 20, Kyle Goldcamp pitched in with 14 points and 12 rebounds and Chace Stanback scored 13 for Erie. Dentmon finished with 33, Melvin Ely scored 21 points and Eyenga chipped in with 17. Dwayne Jones had a monster game on the glass, pulling down 18 rebounds to go along with eight points.

The BayHawks will travel to Canton to face the division leading Charge on Friday night. Texas continues their road trip with a stop in Springfield on Thursday night.
