Seems to me the chant is getting a bit tired.

Last night in the 3rd quarter, when the Blazers were up by 25 or so and the crowd started up with the "BEAT LA" again, I couldn't help but think how cool it would have been if they could have changed it up to "CRUSH LA"!

Nothing personal, DaRizzle, but there's just something about Laker smugness that's pretty easy to detest.

Contract LA.

Hmm, I mean that in the context of contraction, or removing franchises from the league. But it makes it sound like the Lakers are a venereal disease (sortof) and I'm suggesting people get it (definitely not).

So maybe that's too confusing.

I love the beat la chant, it is so timeless..will never grow old

Last night I was watching the game online listening to the homer Laker announcers and after Ariza's flagrant foul on Rudy you could here the RG crowd chanting LA SUCKS! LA SUCKS! LA SUCKS! in the background. It was sweet hearing it in loud and clear as the Laker announcers were trying to blame Rudy for getting hurt because he jumped off one foot.

BNM

Fuck L.A.!

I can seriously picture to RG chanting this...

My entire section was chanting this while rudy was on the floor, ushers had to come in and put an end to it

Sounds like what they did at Timber's games. In the past everyone would chant, "fuck you asshole" when the opposing goalie would do a free kick. Apparently the team didn't think that children should hear such words.

As opposed to "LA Sucks" chant, I would much prefer the chant of "Dir-ty, Dir-ty, Dir-ty" or maybe next game go hockey style and chant "Trev-or, Trev-or, Trev-or" every time Ariza gets scored on or misses his shot.

I heard the LA Sucks chant on TV... my wife ask me what they were saying.

Im personally not a fan of the "City/Team name" sucks chants, or the "bullshit" chants.

Although when you're up by 30, instead of chanting "Beat LA" (which gives the Lakers ownership/control over the anger), the fans should've started a wave.

Or go "When's the next game..." ;)

....the fans should've started a wave.

Now THAT would have been classic! It could become the Blazers trademark form of lighting up the cigar.

I like it. :)
