Haha.. yeah I caught that as well. I think it was Leon Wood, and Rice was yelling at him to look at the monitor at a replay while MB just kept talking. Good stuff.

I wonder/hope Joel P. wasn't upset at Oden getting so many minutes.

I really want to see a picture of Outlaw's finger. I only heard it happen on the radio as I was driving home.

Another good read from Quick. It seems like he's being allowed more access that most beat writers...

Joel was pissed because he picked up some pretty lame-ass fouls. Specially his fourth where the guy just ran into him and he just stood there hands down at his sides.

Yup I'm sure Joel was pissed about the refs. He knows it will cost him $$$$ and the next time those guys ref the game, he'll continue to get screwed if he speaks out.

Was it Javie? (I missed the game last night)

I was courtside at the Toronto game earlier this year Javie did. So many questionable calls, and they all seem to not go our way. At one point J. O'Neal faced up with Oden defending, he got a step on Oden went right around him and dunked. Javie called a foul. The play was right in front of me and Oden litterly didn't even touch him. I mean, he was a foot away from him and just let him go. Greg looked at Javie like, "HUH?" The crowd saw the replay and started to boo Javie relentlessly. I saw Javie look up at the screen to watch the replay. The next play Bosh took it to the basket against LA, who had his arms straight up, but didn't have his feet set Javie blew the whistle (it was the right call) and Lamarcus just stood there for a couple of seconds with his hands in the air like "That's a foul?". LA didn't say a word, but Javie threw a fit. He yelled out in a whiney voice "That's a foul". Then he shook his head and threw his arms up in the air. I thought what a sensative little baby. You're a ref, deal with it. I think Javie has a huge ego, and he's not able to seperate his emotions from how he calls a game. It's like he loves to come to Portland and show he's not intimidated by the RG (one of the loudest arenas in the league)

I hate the guy, and I cringe every time I see he's doing one of our games (especially at home) I can't believe the NBA doesn't do something with this guy.

Leon Wood had his share, or should I say MORE than his share, of bad calls/no calls. In fact I'd have to say that he did a worse job than Javie, quite an "achievement".

Yup, it was Javie. Here's a clip from the article.

Przybilla was in a good mood before the game on Monday. He emerged from the locker room with a grin, smacking on some gum. He said he spent much of Sunday lounging on the couch after running a few errands.

Back in front of his locker, I told him that Steve Javie being one of the night's officials didn't bode well for him. I could see a technical in his future.

You notice when the crowd started chanting "Ja-vie-Sucks!", Javie had been standing on the court during the time out and probably started to wonder if anyone was going to start throwing things at him, so he walked around towards the Philly bench and smilingly exchanged a few words with a Philly assistant coach who walked out on the court towards him?

It seemed wrong to me, like he was sucking up to the Philly bench when the home crowd was booing him. They shouldn't be seen schmoozing with either bench, especially under those circumstances. That's when I knew we were screwed.

Disgusting. I wasn't able to watch the game but Wheels really let Javie have it on the radio after he did that. But the best was in OT on a Blazer drive when Wheels blurted out , "Oh and Javie swollows his whistle again!" It's pretty lame that the ref's decided what kind of game their gonna ref before it even starts. It was obvious they chose playoff style basketball just so the NBA can try and keep the playoff race close and drama filled. Considering Donahue and all the Refs involved in the betting scandal it's not too much of a stretch to say that Stern and the NBA program their reffing game by game for the benefit of the league.. BS
