the NBA finals or even win a championship or will this bother you?

I'll be happy if the Pacers go to the finals.

Re: Being that KP is the GM of the Pacers, How bitter will you be if the Pacers go to

Fuck no! I'd love to see the Pacers beat the Heat and go to the finals. I know the ratings would suck, but personally, I'd love to see an Indiana/Memphis final. They are two fairly young, up and coming teams that play great defense share the ball. They play basketball the right way - none of this Super Friends/Drama Queen bullshit.

My only regret is that we weren't able to pry Roy Hibbert away from them. The way Hibbert is playing in the playoffs just reinforces that Olshey going after him was a smart move and Indiana retaining him was even smarter. I said it at the time and have several times since - Hibbert would be the PERFECT fit at center beside Aldridge. Too bad we didn't get him. He would have immediately fixed our interior defensive deficiencies. I don't think it's any coincidence that Indiana with Hibbert and Memphis with Marc Gasol have both made it to the conference finals. Defense and rebounding wins in the post season. Always has and always will. Being able to defend the paint and deny easy baskets is huge in the post season.

Seeing the Pacers do well and knowing that we lost out on Hibbert bothers me waaaaaay more than KP success with the Pacers. Good for KP

Besides, it's not like KP bailed on us, Allen, Kolde and the Vulcans didn't like sharing the spotlight and credit for the Blazers success with Pritchard. Heaven forbid the fans should like a guy who turned a 21-win team to a 54-win team in three years. Yeah, that's a guy who deserved to be fired.

I think Walsh and Bird had more to do with turning tje Pacers around than KP.

Paul George was a helluva draft pick though.

I like KP. I am glad he's having success.

Re: Being that KP is the GM of the Pacers, How bitter will you be if the Pacers go to

Pacers are the team I'm rooting for. I have no hard feelings towards KP and I like rooting for a team that really leaves it all out there very game. Tough players.

Re: Being that KP is the GM of the Pacers, How bitter will you be if the Pacers go to

Why would we have hard feelings for him? And why would we have hard feelings for him if the Pacers won? It's not like he built that team from the ground up

I would be happy to see the Pacers win it all.

Probably not so much for the Prichard haters that were around when he was let go.

I'm thrilled for him.

I don't think KP deserves much credit for this Pacers team. Good for him and good for small market teams, I guess.

Who isn't Hibbert a perfect fit next to?

Re: Being that KP is the GM of the Pacers, How bitter will you be if the Pacers go to

I was a huge Pacers fan in the 90s, so I would love to see them win one.

Re: Being that KP is the GM of the Pacers, How bitter will you be if the Pacers go to

I've always been anti-Pritchard, but I'm also pro-underdog, so I'm for Indiana and Memphis. If they both win...that's so unlikely, I haven't chosen a favorite. So I'm for Pritchard's team, for now.

Re: Being that KP is the GM of the Pacers, How bitter will you be if the Pacers go to

KP will probably take all the credit for it...

I'm sure he won't mind taking the credit though. After all that's what got him canned in Portland.

Which seemed like a childish, knee jerk, cut-your-nose-off-to-spite-your-face move by Allen and the Vulcans. The only way he can take credit for anything is if the team is doing well, and firing your GM when the team is doing well seems like a stupid thing to do.

Replacing him with Chad Buchanan made a dumb move even dumber and set the team back by two years. Although in the end, Chad's boneheaded moves led to a mutiny that FINALLY go Nate canned and to dumping underachieving, disgruntled veterans for future assets - including the draft pack that Olshey used to land Damian Lillard. I wonder who Chad would have taken with that 6th pick. I have a very strong suspicion he would have passed on Lillard. Like John Nash passing on Chris Paul and Deron Williams because he already had his PG of the Future in Sebastian Telfair. Chad had used his first round pick the prior season on his PG of the Future, Nolan Smith. He passed on Faried and gave up Andre Miller to get Fatty Felton (YUCK!) and Nolan (double YUCK!).

Re: Being that KP is the GM of the Pacers, How bitter will you be if the Pacers go to

Nolan Smith was recommended by McMillan's summer buddy Coach K. I think that McMillan had something to do with our taking Nolan.

Buchanan brought in veterans, which I'm all for. McMillan can't coach veterans who come from any system more sophisticated than his. I'm glad Allen delayed a year replacing Pritchard, because it got McMillan fired, which may have been Allen's reason for delaying the GM hire.

Something about the way KP talks always gave me hope even when things were obviously off the rails with Oden and Roy it just made me feel good to hear him ramble on about culture and what not.

I'm a KP fan. I blame imaginary cap space mainly on the influence of Tom Penn.

Re: Being that KP is the GM of the Pacers, How bitter will you be if the Pacers go to

The Blazers have gone from a playoff team to a joke since KP left. Rich Cho had to have Larry Miller give his introductory interviews to the media, with Cho sitting beside Miller.

So the rebuild failed. At least the team made the playoffs 3 straight years at the end of KP's term here. The Blazers MAYBE will fight for the 7th or 8th seed next year. Once again, Portland fans are self-destructive.

And if you think that's bad, think of how far we've descended since Bob Whitsitt left.

Agree! Pacers already had West, George, Green, Granger, and Hibbert when KP joined the team as a Director of Player Personal in July 2011... then promoted to GM in June 2012.

Re: Being that KP is the GM of the Pacers, How bitter will you be if the Pacers go to

KP is ok, but what exactly has he done in Indiana? Drafted Miles Plumlee?

What exactly did he do in Portland?

Since 2006 here are the Blazers draft day picks or players traded for on draft day

2006
Aldridge
Roy
Rodriguez
Freeland

2007
Oden
Fernandez
Koponen

2008
Bayless
Batum

2009
Claver

2010
Babbitt
Williams

Of that list, 2 players were worth a shit to this team last year. 2 out of 12 first round picks in a 5 year span contributed in a real way to our team last year? That is an epic fail.
