Best OTC Headache Relief?!

What does everyone else use to combat their headaches -or- migraines?!

Normally when I have a bad headache I prefer an extra strength Exceedrin and a hot shower followed by some roll-on neck relief like Biofreeze. Vaporizing some cannabis works really good as well, but I recently discovered a brand new product that leaves my entire head feeling nice with a cooling sensation after a hot shower. Honestly, when I have headaches, I eat ibuprofen like it's candy.

Actually, I've had some pretty massive headaches lately because I'm sitting at my desk for 40+ hours a week and my neck has been bothering me from my desk being about 3 inches too short. My posture has been horrible and I'm hoping to get my desk fixed.

I know you do web design. Do you think it's possible that your headaches are related to posture?

...absolutely, I try to take enough breaks walking the dog and even incorporate some interesting "wall stretches" that help the upper spine/neck posture in a preemptive attempt to stave off those types of tension headaches.

Dude, get an electric desk. I honestly can't recommend it enough (if you don't already have one.) I had one at my last job and I miss it soooooo much. The ability to raise or lower your desk as you see fit is so nice, and if you are in the mood for standing, you can do that too.

I haven't had a headache, cold, or flu since I went on the keto diet. That would be since 2013.

I have been taking two aleve a day like clockwork for arthritis. That probably helps.

I also had sinus surgery a couple of years ago.

Before all this, I used to get severe headaches fairly often. I'd eat six ibuprofen and the pain would be mostly tolerable after 45 minutes or so. None of the other pain relievers did anything for those headaches.

Since starting on the aleve, I am not supposed to take any other NSAIDs like ibuprofen. There's a warning on the aleve bottle... I have some excedrin just in case, but I don't remember using it.

I'm pretty sure everyone who suffers headaches has their own magic bullet treatment.

BTW, when I told a doctor at the clinic that I took that much ibuprofen, but not that often, he kind of freaked. He didn't like the idea of taking ibuprofen at all, and offered me tylenol with codein instead. That stuff never worked as good as the ibuprofen so I turned it down.

Heh... I take 4 ibuprofen every once in a while. I think I took 6 a couple times about ten years ago when I had a toothache.

The Wife used to get Migraines often, until she started taking Magnesium supplement at night, daily. Now, very rarely. But when she does get them, it's usually one of my RX Naproxen's. (sorry i know its not OTC...). but they're like 5 extra strength aleve.

As mentioned, if you have chronic headaches you need to look for cause; jaw, posture, insomnia, alcohol overuse, stress, eyestrain are all possibles.

But for the occasional headache, just plain aspiring. Also wring a washcloth in hot water and hold to back of neck.

Sometimes going for a walk can help.

Supposedly, you have to take aleve for 2 weeks before it works effectively for arthritis. This was my experience, FWIW.

This medicine usually begins to work within one week, but in severe cases up to two weeks or even longer may pass before you begin to feel better. Also, several weeks may pass before you feel the full effects of this medicine.

...I've found that cannabis is the best relief in most instances, but I do like the way the roll-on stuff makes my neck feel. This headache relief shampoo stuff offers me something similar for my entire head -- almost like a permanent cool breeze is blowing thru your hair.
