In certain aspects of the game. Rebounding, post scoring, defense.

Question for you, 3 seconds left on the game clock, down by 2 pts, who would you want to take the last shot, prime Dame or prime Lebron?

I'd go with prime Dame every f'ing time!

Prime Clutch game Dame sure. But one on one or equal supporting cast over the duration of the game, LbJ goes into clutch time with an insurmountable lead 50% of the time. Leaving only half of the games Dame would have a chance at.

Prime Dame vs prime Lebron in one on one would have been epic!

I'd still go with prime Dame in one on one.

Seriously? LeBron would score at will on Dame's size and defensive chops, and just ask Derek Rose about trying to get free against a defender (LeBron) as fast and much bigger than himself. Dame would have to shoot lights out on step back 3's to have any hope.

I'm not in the "LeBron is the GOAT" camp, but he's probably #1 on the list of guys would would be favored in every theoretical one-on-one match-up.

I feel like I gave you some pretty good reasons why he wouldn't. And you offered no counter of substance. As such, "I think Dame would win," should really be, "I hope and dream Dame would win." Otherwise, I have to rethink all the credit I've given you for level-headed thinking.

I'd take Dame and equal talent support of Dame guys over LeBron and equal talent support of LeBron guys every time.

Sorry, I had two cars broken into while I was at the beach, trying to diagnose problems with the forum, and other shit. I've been busy as fuck, cussing the sun as it was setting because I needed that damn light, lol.

IMO Dame would win.

Dame is quicker and a better shooter. If Lebron plays him tight Lillard has the speed to get by him. If Lebron plays off him Lillard will bury him from deep.

Not saying Lebron isn't one of the greatest players of all time. They would be close and amazing battles. They play 10 games of one on one, I think Lillard gets 6 wins.

Is that level-headed enough?

Lebron in his prime was an all-NBA defender, even against point guards. I don't agree that prime Dame has the speed to get by prime Lebron...at least, not enough to avoid getting blocked from behind. I could see him winning a couple games by shooting over Lebron, but overall, Lebron's size/strength advantage would be much too much.

Sorry, Davis might (might!) have HOF talent, but to this point he is nowhere near a HOF shoo in. He has a ring pretty much because of LeBron, and his body of work in general is meh at best. His injury history pretty much precludes (or should preclude) any HOF hype. Nice player whose body let him down.......

I figured that had to be the angle you were envisioning, but I didn't want to put words into your mouth. As PtldPlatypus explained, if you play out the scenario, 1) prime LeBron is just as quick as Dame, and 2) would happily play the chase-down block game like he loved doing on fast brakes, ball hawking from behind.

There's no screens or dump-offs to worry about, being one-on-one, so LeBron could play him tight on the perimeter and still recover on most drives.

Ja? Scored and assisted more than Dame.
Luka? Only 2 games, but better than Dame in rpg, apg, bpg, spg, and topg, and only 0.5 ppg behind Dame.

Dame's big advantage over those three is that he's the only one who's undefeated, but all four have a case.

only one of the four is coming back from a major injury and surgery? Meanwhile, 3 of the 4 are leaders of teams expected to be contenders, while the other is on a team widely expected to be in the lottery?
