So again, how is Blake hurting this team?

LOL. I can't believe some people here still support blake.... anyways:

Blake, 95% of the time, dribbles down the court, stops at the three point line, and dumps it off to either Brandon or LaMarcus.

After he does that, he just stands around at the 3-point line, waiting till either someone else scores or his man leaves him to double and he can be a spot-up three point shooter.

He doesn't penetrate.

He doesn't drive and dish.

He can't create his own shot, and other teams know this. The only way Blake scores is from open threes.

Also, he sucks at defense. He's slow.

The only time he helps this team is by hitting open threes. Dumping it off to brandon is not something that helps us.

It's laughable that anyone would rather see blake out there than letting Jerryd or Sergio develop.

I hate steve blake this year almost as much as I hated Jarrett Jack last year.

In each of their own ways, they slowed down the offense of the team and disrupted the rhythm.

How is that a counter argument? Just because Sergio does it also, doesn't mean Blake hurts the team less.

Also, Sergio can actually pass the basketball. Blake can not. I'm not defending Serg, but at least he has that gold star. Blake is just a good shooter. He has gotten by with good shooting and good decision making, but he isn't really a point guard.

We've been through this argument numerous times, but we DON'T need a ball dominating guard (especially not one as bad as Sergio) next to Brandon Roy. Blake and his skills is just what the doctor ordered for this particular Portland team. Blake's passing may not be as flashy as Sergio's, but it is more than adequate.

We've seen Sergio/Roy lineups before have we not? Yet every time we play this lineup, ROY ends up with the ball in his hands. So tell me, how can we harness the power of Sergio's awesome passing skills when he won't get the ball with our best player on the floor? His ability to play off the ball does not exist, and that's something we're going to need.

What the hell are you talking about? My two major arguments against him are his defense and his inability to make the entry pass to OUR BIG MEN. Where did I say we needed a point guard who could dominate the ball? Blake is one-dimensional. That's not what the "doctor ordered" for this team. We need a point guard who can defend, score, and make the entry pass to our bigs. Blake can do.... none of that. He can do one thing......... shoot. If that's what you think this team needs, so be it, but I think we need a little bit more from our point guard to be successful.

Why do you keep bringing up Sergio? Who here is advocating Sergio (besides Maris)? Sergio being inadequate doesn't make Blake any less adequate.
