Making customers sit on the floor just may be crazy enough to work. Now that is outside the box thinking.

That location is tough! No parking. After the cowgirl thing, a guy I grew up with bought it and ran the club for a year or so. Big time fail! Hope this works!

I don't know if parking will be a big issue. People can park wherever they would for the game(Lloyd) and hop off the max and walk down to the bar, then walk over to the Garden. Then, back to the bar. It's nice there is finally an option close by to stop and get drinks at before the game.

So I guess they will change the name each year for the next 20 when the Blazers win 20 titles in a row? Or are they keeping the name and playing disco?

Is it one of those bars for THE GAYS?

i just read the article and didnt catch if it said when it was opening? am i just illiterate or did it give the opening date?

Must already be open:

"A sports bar named Spirit of 77 is opening across from the Oregon Convention Center in time for this weekend's football kickoffs and baseball playoffs."

The past couple establishments that have been at that location failed quickly. This seems like it might catch on.

The bar is owned by the same people who run Clyde Commons and Olympic Provisions, so the food should be really good. From the pictures I've seen they have a bunch of Pop-a-shot hoops, fooseball and probably some pool as well. I could see this taking off, though, as HCP said parking is kind of a bitch.

street car stops right there now too, that will help with the parking issue

might be fun to peep. I'll probably check it out when I go to blazers games this winter.
