how dissapointing... quick on the game

Nate isn't creative enough to use his best players so he goes with what he did last year.

Give me a break.

Greg Oden was considered a once in a generation center and was the #1 pick in the NBA Draft. McMillan has him on the bench to start the game.

Is this not the biggest joke ever?

I get Andre Miller I guess. I can live with that.

But Oden? Seriously?

this team is turning out to be a disaster

lots of players shrugging their shoulders last night

and btw rudy is doubtful for sunday

so pre season means nothing???????????

where is all those who say "ITS PRE SEASON RELAX"

yah this is a nightmare in the making

can we get a frickin merge, you guys are going ape-shit!!
lol

:sigh:

I have never understood the "Nate-hate" amongst some fans....but this time, they may actually have a reason.

Quick just reported that Nate said this was the opening night line up.
and i just said that i won't believe that is the actual opening night lineup until it happens on opening night.

batum started last year on opening night after nate named him the starter, right?

dont worry... when we start 0-4...

then it will change

Can I get a Nate is throwing the team on under the bus please?

Well, Quick does have inside sources. Maybe Blazers coach, Mark Iavaroni told him :devilwink:

At the end of the day - I honestly say that the entire starting unit is not a big deal to me. What I want to see is Oden and Miller getting more minutes than Joel and Blake - and doing it in such a way that all our main guys (Roy, LMA, Miller, Oden this year) maximize their output.

Has anyone realized that last year, we won nearly 20 games when trailing by 10 or more (rounded up) with the lineup we have now. I don't agree with McMillans decision, but I guess time will tell. Some people are just afraid of change. ====>McMillan

My lineup: Oden, LA, Batum, Roy, Blake OR Oden, LA, Webster, Roy, Miller

Let Travis start at the 3 for pete's sake, as long as Oden starts. Oden needs to start! Having Oden come off the bench is saying that we made a mistake picking him over Durant. I signed up for this board just to express my disappointment with Nate's Decision. But remember guys, Batum was suppose to start the first game of the season and we all know how that turned out. Like one of the poster's said, I wont believe till I see it.

I want them to get starter's minutes (at least 30).

No lineup has performed anywhere near as well as that one so far, especially on defense.

Other than maybe Rudy instead of Blake, I'd expect that to be our lineup most of the year.

I want to revise my opinion above, not a disaster, just a weird clusterfuck. In what universe does your number 1 pick, 22 year old center put up 17 points and 10.5 rebounds in 25ish minutes for the first 4 games of the preseason equate to "how do you feel about coming off the bench buddy?"

I'm not saying Oden won't be getting good minutes (hopefully) and Miller won't also, but if Roy, Aldridge and Oden are so incompatible that they can't all be on the court to start a game what exactly are you building toward?

Maybe this all works out in the long haul, but I'm feeling pretty "unenthusiastic" about this move.

Miller is not one of our "main guys", and you're delusional if you think he is.

Rudy, Joel and Travis are, and you're delusional if you think they aren't.

Yes we get it MARIS, every day is opposite day for you, very droll.

I count the days until Nate is fired and Monty Williams is promoted to head coach.

Thanks for dropping in MARIS. It's always nice to hear an outsider's opinion.

I would like to point, however, that Travis, Rudy and Joel have not, yet, to a great disappointment to you, I am sure, been traded to the Kings.

What are your opinions about Caspi coming off the bench? Do you think he should start instead of Nocioni or not?

Another way to look at this: if Nate started Oden despite his preseason success and he did poorly as a starter for the first few games of the season, it would wreck the confidence he had going the past few weeks if Nate was forced to re-bench him.

:dunno:
Although I've never been impressed with Nocioni at all, I wouldn't know since I don't follow the Kings.
