the only way the Blazers should go back to CSN, is if they 100% guarantee they will have signed with Dish and Direct BEFORE the Blazers sign on the dotted line.

If they want to have a deal done by this summer, you would think we would hear some news on that front soon.

They will resign with comcast. Nobody else will offer them nearly the same amount of money.

Buy a amazon fire tv, and subscribe to Playstation vue to watch the games next season.

New management in the Blazers front office this time, no?

Modern sports cable deals screw the modern fan over so bad. Don't have the right provider..... try the Net with the right VPN with the right plug in..... blah blah blah. God forbid they provide their programming to the widest possible audience! :dammit:

Does this work outside of Portland?

And how much $$ we talking here?

You don't need PlayStation Vue to watch NBA games. You just download the free NBA App and use NBA League Pass. But none of this helps people who live near Portland since NBA League Pass is blacked out there, PlayStation Vue or not.

Playstation vue has Comcast sportsnet bruh. So it does help portlanders.

I believe it's 34.99 a month on a month to month plan.

No idea if it works in albany. It works in the Portland metro area.

The Blazers should write in something to the agreement so games have to be available to purchase by streaming. Comcast can even charge $x a month for only Blazer games or charge $5 a game or whatever but it needs to be available to all Portlanders. Cable is dieing anyways none of the target age demographic are signing up for cable.

What Comcast should do to help their cable business is have the games in 4k only for comcast subscribers but have HD streaming for everyone else.

Mistake? I guess we have a different definition of mistake. Filling your pockets with BY FAR the most money is not a mistake.

It is a mistake, because it created a new generation of fans who aren't being exposed to the team on a regular basis. It's all but killed my brother, my dad, my cousin and all my (local) niece and nephews interests in the team.

out of $ight, out of mind.

With all the people moving to Oregon I don't think they'll notice.

You mean Californian's who only go to the games when the Lakers are in town?
Honestly, it's hard to meet people who grew up in Oregon anymore.

Most of them come from cali, but I've met a few that love going to the blazer games and share love for the Lakers and blazers.

It's happening fams. A new breed of laker/blazer fan

I moved here from California and left the Lakers and Kings in the rearview mirror.

Maybe you weren't around when the Blazers spent years trying to get around the Comcast deal, knowing how they froze out so many fans. I was at meetings with the team president (what was his name? The Nike guy) where he was talking about it three years after they signed the deal. It was a huge mistake.

The problem is that Comcast is an inherently evil company. Nobody should ever do business with them. They should be driven out of this market and never allowed back in.

Evil companies destroy the environment, exploit workers, corrupt the government, take advantage of the elderly, poor and addicts.

Comcast sells an overpriced product with crappy customer service that can be frustrating to purchase. Its annoying but its hardly evil. Their held in the same regard as all the other cable companies. Here in Austin we got Time Warner which is a mirror image of Comcast.

I've been around for the entire Comcast deal. I was born and raised in portland.

Draco is right. All these cable companies can be annoying, not evil.

Directv, dish, Frontier all suck.

With Playstation vue available to watch games, the only thing Comcast might have over portlanders is internet ( but probably not anymore because most of you can choose century link (city) or frontier (burbs) now).

Companies coming to Portland to provide Internet invest shit tons of money into portland to build the infrastructure to even provide you with these services. That's what Google is stuck doing right now. Negotiating with the city what they will invest in portland in terms of infrastructure. You scratch my back, we'll scratch yours stuff I'm sure. In ten years we will still be posting here and by then I'm sure we will hear how evil Google is too.

Google is going to rule the world.

Btw, a few problems I find with subscribing to League Pass streaming only is that it's got about a 1 min delay over live TV, and it's at 30 fps which is kind of crappy for sports. Tolerable, but a little annoying. I'd rather have a slightly lower res image with 60p.

The other issue is that you can't get NBATV games to stream, which I've found the Blazers were on more than a few times this season.
