Wow... he really summed it up in this little response....

Joey (Houston)

Whats your take on the Blazers? Even when they win, they seem to be struggling with something I cant put my finger on.

J.A. Adande

I liked Doug Collins' take last night, that they don't have a dynamic personality. Roy is great but still has only one playoff series to his name, and isn't very vocal. Miller has been around longer, but is even less vocal. Aldridge is quiet. Juwan Howard is respected, but you can't run your offense through him. So there's no one for them to rally around.

The question is great too. I guess lots of people are noticing something isnt right. Ok homers...
please defend lol.

they need something... thats painfully obvious

I agree. No swagger. That's what happens when you go for "good guys".

But I guess the Spurs didn't either.

see this is why blazer fans get mocked.

you cant say anything negative (in this case its 100% true what J.A. said) and you have to attack me. Im just posting what he said. Relax little one... and dont be mad cause the J.A. speaks the truth.

I am not angry. I gave you a fantastic answer. Sebastian Loeb. If you can't rally around him..., you can't rally. Don't be mad because it's the truth.

Rally around Bayless.

Bruce Bowen was far from good. He was flat out evil. :devilwink:

You have to remember when the Spurs run started, they had David Robinson, and while not a bad guy, he was a very strong leader. So was a guy named...Avory Johnson. Once established, it is much easier to keep the winning mentality in place than it is to gain it in the first place.

We need a personality that will yell at his teammates when they need it.

Kinda like what Chris Paul does to his teammates. A control freak, but in a good way.

Manu kind of too...and Parker had that whole Eva Longoria thing.

Roy is fine for that at times. but sometimes he looks whiny. Camby I've seen do stuff like that same with Juwan.

Not even Denver rallies around Anderson. He's a spark off the bench. We need a straight up asshole like Chris Paul.

We all know straight up who the leader of Denver is. His name is Chauncey Billups.

Hustle guys don't provide leadership, but they do provide energy and spark. Portland needs a vocal leader.

Ever wonder why Martell Webster had to remind Roy that he wasn't playing as "explosively" as he was on in the past? That was straight up in the paper today.

Hell not even Nate is as vocal as he used to be. He used to scream at the team all the time. Now he just sits there looking sullen.

we need a birdman type player.

"He'd fly through the air with the greatest of ease,
That daring young man on the flying trapeze.
His movements were graceful, all girls he could please
And my love he purloined away."

Sounds like Rudy.

No, you can say something negative and give out constructive criticism, but you take it to such an extreme that separates you from actually being a fan.

its quite known around the league that the blazers are soft and have no muscle.

I mean even the freaking kings on Tuesday wanted to out muscle us. Thats pretty sad... or maybe scary. The blazers need to start making guys pay who take advantage of coming into the lane.

You've said before you chose the Blazers as your team because of the fans/atmosphere at games.

P.S. Can you play "Paradise City" for my girl bro? It's our anniversary.

You know I don't agree with Mixum much. But the whole angle of questioning some persons fanhood is just bullshit. Most of the time it is a weak argument because you don't have anything to say on the subject, but you don't like what they have to say. So what if they don't agree with you. Get the fuck over it.

Give me a fucking break. When someone changes his argument ad naseum and does nothing but complain and call other fans for their "homerism" - he opens himself to the same treatment.

Shit flows both ways. He wants to play with shit, and apparently he is not a troll - than the same questions he asks of other posters can be asked of him. We can fling feces just like the other monkeys.

Do we really need to do an expose of Mixed-pee changing who is good and who is bad based on the latest thing and presenting it as a bad thing...?

A bit of a disconnect there, MIXUM. Attack people on this board by calling them homers and other deprecating little terms then start whining about the converse.

Once again, MIXIM the Troll makes himself the center of attention while the mods just sit around with their arms folded.

they dont have enough playoff experience nor the coach to imitate the 2004 Pistons or the superstar to imitate traditional champions, Roy is not a #1 on a title winning team, simple as that

We have no one that the NBA likes to showcase, at least until we begin to win some playoff rounds. They push the Howards, Wades, James and Kobes of the league to adnausum. (sp?)
