So don't get down about our performance on the road. We're doing just fine. And we have a chance to improve with our last 13 road games.

Thank you for being the voice of reason. Sad that there needs to be a voice of reason after one loss but it's true.

Do people actually think we're a good road team? Do you watch the games?

there aren't many good road teams in the league. based on records at this point, i'd say there are 6(cavs, celtics, magic, lakers, spurs, nuggets) but i expect the nuggets to fall out of that group.

We're not bad. We're okay. 12-16 isn't wonderful. But it's not "so bad." It's tough for any team to win on the road. We were only 13-28 last season. This year we're 12-16. There's a marked improvement. 12-16 isn't bad. 17 teams WISH they had our road record.

PHX and New Orleans all have a positive record on the road, and Dallas actually played better on the road for a long stretch.

Obviously we're not "bad" compared to the rest of the league, there are far more scrub teams than solid playoff teams, but we are definitely in the lower part of teams in the playoff race.

Please don't misconstrue this as the Voice of Doom, since it's only one game.

But I think that we've beaten a WC Top 10 team on the road exactly once in 12 tries this year. :dunno: For me, that's a troubling trend. I'm not saying it's definitely going to continue, but it's not good.

Being 11-5 against the rest of the league on the road is ok, but 1-11 against our playoff rivals (and GS...a good team at home) is not.

We'll be fine, we'll be fine. We'll win on the road when it matters. Rockets had to win tonight or their season was over. We'll come back and get a 2 or 3 seed.

Isn't that what Shaq says about his FTs?

We're 1-10 on the road against the top 9 WC teams, and the one win was at NO without CP3. That's gotta get better.

We'll win in San Antonio tomorrow. And then we'll pummel the Nuggets in Denver on March 5th. No worries.

My heart hurts after that loss. Usually i'm pretty even after a loss or a win (inside I feel great after a win until the next game though which i LOVE) but I just felt like we needed this one so bad... Damn.

Good finds, Eric. My question is, where's the Blazer history of turning it on like Shaq did? :dunno:

I like the optimism, but I a bit skeptical of our ability to "Turn it on" when we haven't had the best history.

13th best? there are only 30 teams. That's like saying I had the 13th best grade in the class. Whoop dee doo. That gets you a fat C+ on a bell curve. The blazers are not a good road team.

We are a pretty bad road team against the West. We start off so slow - especially as of late and this will not get it done in the playoffs.

What about a 1 and 10 record makes you think this a certainty?

I hope they win both games, but it is a very long ways from a sure thing.

I agree.. it's a steady but slow improvement. Last season, we had no chance against good teams and were about 50/50 against the mediocre. This year, we're winning the games we should on the road and are competing a little better against the good teams.
Next year, the next step is to win more games against the good teams. 12-16 ain't bad considering we were 13-28 last year.

How does our road record rank compared to other teams in the top 8 from each conference, playoff teams?

Being in the top half is pretty good. We're better than most. 17 teams want our record. It's not horrible. If you want to talk about a bad road team, look at, say, the Raptors. THAT is a bad road team. We're just alright. And better than most.

We're not doomed to the fate of our previous games. The Hawks had a sub .500 record overall last season and yet they were able to take the Celtics to 7 games, something the Lakers couldn't even do.

Exactly.

Combining an above average road record with a great home record is pretty good, especially in a non-contention year. When they are seriously contending, they need to be better on the road.

The Jazz are 9-17 going on 9-18.

Last year, the Nuggets, Jazz, and Mavs were all 17-24 on the road. They all made the playoffs and the Jazz made it to the second round!

Shaq's FT % actually goes down during the playoffs.

But when he had to hit them, he did. Look at the stats I provided. 12 of 14 in a game in the Finals? That's stepping it up.
