Blazers laying off 20% of staff

The league will waive the fees and a city that WANTS the NBA wil throw money at him. He will most likely come out ahead. Dumdum didn’t buy the team to move it, but if the powers that be don’t fix their own arena, he won’t think twice about going somewhere else. You are foolish to think otherwise
Blazers aren't going anywhere. Paranoia will destroya.

which is totally why the Grizzlies left Memphis, the Pelicans left New Orleans and the NBA did everything in their power to have the Kings leave Sacramento.

Gross revenue isn't the best measure. There are COGS and other costs (taxes, rent, luxury tax, salaries, etc.) to consider. Some of that revenue is TV contract and revenue sharing.

You need to consider the entire financial statements, not just the top line on the P&L. Or even the bottom line as any business can be profitable but lose money due to capital expenditures.
Yes and no. While revenue doesn't mean it'll flow to net income it's always one of the most key financial metrics.

Like NBA stats no one financial metric is always the be all end all.

Class act. No wonder he has always been well liked.

NOT saying I know him personally, but I've worked with a lot of people who were "well liked" and could spin a good yarn, but weren't actually liked by people they worked with.
I'm not saying that is true of him, but how he presented himself in his conversation doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Wanted to jump in. I worked with Casey for five years and he was very much well-liked by our team, staff, and players too. Did you know Dame had him photograph one of his album covers? It's been tough seeing former co-workers, esp. those who have been with the Blazers for 15+ years, let go just because the new owner doesn't have the cash to actually bankroll an NBA team.

So you don't know him and you aren't saying anything about him personally but he could be like someone that is well liked but is only well liked because they talk or write well (Spin Yarn).
I'm just wondering why you took the time to write something like this? Even in your own post you say "It doesn't necessarily mean anything".

Because a video of someone being professional doesn't mean they were well liked by people they worked with.

But multiple people who have worked with him for many years have all said he was extremely professional and well liked.
I just don’t get why try to open some kind of conversation that brings that into doubt?
This guy has been a staple of the Blazers media for years and has never stepped out of bounds and as far as I know deserves respect.

Anyway not worth the time to continue this conversation. I apologize if you feel I’m unreasonable here. Take care.

If I felt you were unreasonable I would've probably said so.

I've also talked to a couple people who worked with him and have said things differently than what you said. I'll just leave it at that.

Okay. That makes more sense then. I just have not heard much negative.

I thought @THE HCP was the resident Goober?

Oh you said Guru… never mind.

I am willing to bet you that HCP (and any other current or former employee) who works for the team, or adjacent to the team, is not going to say anything to any of us (including me).

It is my understanding that HCP liked Casey.

He’s been very quiet lately. Might just be spending more time with family but I’m sure it’s also a very good time to keep things clear on social media.

Yeah, Im hoping he's not getting screwed by the new owner. I know his kid is back in town playing for the Cherry Bombs and I think he's doing games for the Fire.

Mostly, Im sure he's tired of me.

He’s good at what he does.
His job creates a good product.
That makes teams money.
I think he will be fine. If the Blazers don’t keep him he will turn it on somewhere else.
