You keep throwing these vague statements out there. The Blazers improving by 21 wins in two years is "a failed status quo," but the Canes being stuck at around 52 wins and losing in the second round or conference finals consistently is "thriving"?

Your definitions for the same thing change based on what you seem to want them to be.

I'd think the local governments will come up with at least most of the money; but it's not going to be a quick process....and it shouldn't be either

but I'm wondering....if you were told you needed to remodel your house (that you owned outright without debt by the way) in the next 2 or 3 years or you'd have to move because the house didn't meet code...

....and you talked to a contractor who said the remodel would be 200K, and who didn't offer protections against cost overruns

....and you asked to see the plans....and he said there are no plans...yet

I’ve been through several company buyouts including two equity firms purchasing companies I worked at. This is a business and he has every right to clean it up if he feels like there’s waste. He’s shown that he’s willing to spend money to improve the hockey team and has said he would go above and beyond to spend if it meant bringing in players that improve the team.

This is exactly what we wanted someone who cares about winning! It sucks for the employees who were let go I feel for them I’ve been through it.

I may not like him personally but I’d rather have an owner who wants to win and is willing to pony up if right deal comes along than an owner that doesn’t care. He also doesn’t seem like a guy that will get to attached to player if he has to trade popular player to improve team he’ll do it

That's a huge issue. AI can write stuff but it's all been written already. Nothing that is created will be original content. So that means they will pick up someone who is looking for their first big start. That doesn't mean that person won't be good but just new and not carrying 20-30 years worth of raises and salary adjustments for inflation.
This is exactly what cutting costs looks like.
