to move Wes to make room for him. Move Batum over to SG.

keep wes, try and sign him in FA next year if we want him so bad

Be nice to get em, but who knows what the market will be like

I love Wes he's a grinder but why does everyone seem to think he is so damn irreplaceable? Wes was a KP guy not an Olshey guy. Not saying that Olshey does not like Wes just that Olshey does not have ties to Wes.

Lockdown Defense. Every great team needs a Wesley Mathews. While not irreplaceable, it's hard to find a better value.

I don't think he is untouchable. If you move Nic to SG he plays great D as well.

Why? I all ready asked if people thought if he would go to the all star game and people laughed so what would you call it?
SO you're either an all star or borderline NBA player in your book?

Wes was a Cho guy, wasn't he?

Technically a Buchanan guy. Between KP and Cho.

Cho was hired on 7/19/10. Matthews was signed on 7/21/10. Technically was Cho, although I agree that KP's fingerprints were on it, as were Buchanan's.

In any event Olshey does not have ties with Wes. As much as I like Wes he's a grinder and every winning team does need a player like Wes. I don't think he is irreplaceable. The Blazers are a very young team who have many holes. As it looks right now Lillard, Batum, Leonard and probably Aldridge, Barton are the only true bets to stay on this team for the long hall.

You dont just get ride of wes for nothing. He is an above average nba player and a good fit with the team. You dont pass on an upgrade either.

We could sure use Crawford and Felton right now. They might both make the All-Star team.

Matthews was signed to an offer sheet by the Blazers on 7-10-10.

Matthews is indisuptably a top 15 SG in this league. Great defender, great shooter.

I think the Blazers already have an up grade and it's Nic Batum. Batum showed he can be very effective at the SG spot last see season. So that leaves the Blazers to find a starting SF. You put Nic Batum at SG for a full season and he will grow into a star player.

But he won't if you leave him at SF? I don't have a problem with Batum playing SG. But not sure how you can justify him being a star at SG but he can't at SF.

Probably can I just think Batums numbers will go up if you put him at SG.

I don't understand the fascination with moving Josh Smith to SF. He's a fugging PF and a guy you want near the rim on both sides of the ball. Somewhat undersized, but never overwhelmed by NBA PFs.

You play him at SF but use him as like a PF. Doesn't really help spread the floor but with LA playing so far out of the paint I could see it working.

I never said that Olshey had any ties to Wes. I was just cleaning up the "technically" post by the guy who said that Matthews was a Buchanan move. "Technically", it was a Cho move, since he was the GM when Wes was offered the contract.

Contract was finalized on 7/21/10. Technically, it was a Cho signing. You do know what "technically" means, right?
