What are the issues or needs they have to address first?

General Manager would be a good starting point...lol

Oden deal
Signing Rookies?
Cutting Broy

What about bringing the Thrilla' back?

Bring in Crawford and slide LA to the 5 and Wallace to the 4. Then we become the WarriorsNorth!

LOSERS: The Portland Trail Blazers

The Blazers carry high salaries with a mediocre team, and we know for certain the GM has not spent the summer executing a new master plan. We know this because there is no GM! But common sense would suggest this team has to win a lot or change a lot, and one of their favorite tools of the past -- outspending rivals -- has grown trickier.

Maybe with the midlevel...but dont we need shooters?

Joel was horrible last year and had another season ending injury. Maybe we sign him for the 14th roster spot near the minimum, but he will never be the player he once was and honestly at his peak he was best coming off the bench. Throwing the midlevel at him would be a horrible mistake when we have so many other holes on this roster. We can get similar production from some scrub like Jeff Pendegraph who may not even make an NBA roster.

Can Felton do a one week cameo on the biggest loser? Start him tomorrow maybe he could drop down to 240 when training camp starts.

^ The kid from Hogwarts is cracking' on my boy Ray!

I haven't heard anything about amnesty provisions. If there is one, sadly you have to consider whether to use it on Roy or not.

Do you think they will just let him walk?

It sounds like the luxury tax will be incredibly punitive. Roy's got 4 years, $70 mill left. I would hate to see him go, but if he is only going to be a 10-12 minute per game player or if it's is true that PA wants to sell then I think you will see him cut if there is an amnesty provision. On the plus side, without Roy's contract on the books, the payroll is in pretty good shape.

We'd have one of the best cap situations in the league if we could cut Roy. LaMarcus and Wes are the only guys signed beyond this season.

1. Fire Nate and bring in a real coach

2. HIRE A FUCKING GM

3. Amnesty Roy

4. Sign some extra large black men

5. Suck Greg Oden's monster cock so he might re-sign with us. If that doesn't work send him to Indiana for Hibbert and Psycho T

6. Sell team to Larry Ellison

Bringing in a new coach for a lockout shortened season is not the best idea, unless you want to try to win the NBA lottery, then it is a fantastic idea.

When do players have to report for training camp? How many more games with Nancy does Batum have? (Will he play today? I guess we'll see...)

Until we see the details of the CBA, I am reserving my thoughts with the exception of balancing the roster by finding quality minutes from additional bigs if our current ones cannot stay healthy and keeping Wallace from killing himself by keeping his play at the 4 limited.

Study what Mike D'Antoni did to bring out the best from Felton, and try to incorporate it into our offense. Figure out how to utilize the talents of Wallace and Batum better in our offense. Draw up a plan for teaching defensive fundamentals. Devise a training exercise that actually forces the Blazers to fast break. If Nate doesn't want to do these things, start looking for his replacement; at the rate these guys work, they need to start early.

I can answer all of your questions for you quickly. Nate will NEVER be capable of optimizing his players' offensive skills because that's not part of his coaching philosophy. And Nate has stacks of incriminating photos of PA and farm animals in compromising positions, so he's NEVER leaving until Allen kicks the bucket or sells the team.

Never? Sure seems to get a lot out of a lot of players. Outlaw sure looked like shit in NJ, looked much better with nate getting a lot out of him. Hardly anyone thought Roy would be the player he was here. Blake's had his best years here, when everyone was certain he'd be an ideal PG for the triangle. Did so much better for Nate. We all knew Sergio would thrive once he got away from nate and got to run, right? Oh. But, none of that matters, I suppose.

Nate's system is designed to make one-trick ponies like Outlaw and Blake look half-way decent because all they were asked to do is catch and shoot from behind the arc, but if we're going to talk about complexity and maximizing the offensive talent of his most gifted and versatile players then forget about it.

You know MM if Allen does end up selling the team at least we have a pretty good shot at getting rid of Nate.

So he optimizes the talents of some, but not others. Sounds like every coach there is.

Not only this, but Outlaw was also permitted to take those horrendous just inside the arc off the dribble sideways shots and not rebound and completely forget his defensive assignments and still get a good chunk of playing time. Avery Johnson was not so keen on this play style and didn't let Travis get away with it in New Jersey, and thus they got Travis without his scoring and his regular dose of everything (aka nothing) else.

Avery Johnson didn't let him get away with it to the tune of starting him 55 games, and giving him a higher MPG than he ever had? Makes plenty of sense. With less rebounding, steals and blocks he got under Nate? Maybe it was because Avery tried to force him in at SF, where he isn't good, and Nate "maximized his abilities" as a stretch 4.
