Problem is, he wasn't particularly good when he played. You hope he produces with more minutes, but he never showed the consistency in games to deserve it. The league is full of guys who can't miss in practice... It's only in hindsight that most people feel we should have kept JO. Dale Davis was considered a pretty good get at the time.

Yup, we were a championship caliber team and we couldn't really afford to give him time over Brian Grant and Sheed. I remember him always making mistakes when he got time (probably because he was nervous) and Dunleavy would just instantly pull him. At the end of the day, it was a failure on Dunleavy's part as coach. I know Whitsitt wanted to keep him.

Totally agree. It's all revisionist history with Jerm - but he was pretty crap and Davis was a great trade at the time. Didn't work out, but it was a much better swing/miss than the Afflalo acquisition.

Yeah, it's one thing to yank young guys when you have Sheed/Grant playing in front of them. It's entirely different when you yank Collins around when Aminu is "in front" of him.
