Blazers upset about hard screen.............

Ya. I mentioned it in the game thread.

I can't believe this is even a story.

I am hoping that may light a fire for the Blazers. They need to grow some balls and hopefully an event like that; backed by the fans booing, may be enough ammo for the Blazers to get a little saucey in game 6 and 7. We need to be aggressive. How in the hell does a soft team like Dallas be able to push us around. That is totally unexecptible!

I think that Matthews or whoever is being guarded by Barea in the post should turn and hit him with a hard elbow right in his rat-like nose. That's just basketball, and it's not Wesley's fault that Barea is 5'2" tall.

Damn. Nice find of the video. I didn't even see that.

That was a legal pick. The only issue that I can agree with is that it was unnecessary given the time and score. The team shouldn't need something this insignificant to motivate them in an elimination game.

And, Patty, leave this stuff out of twitter, please. Threatening them by saying they will have to "deal with the rest of the family" makes you look weak.

my thoughts exactly. The Mike's just sounded butt hurt when this happened as well. I didnt see it the first time so I rewound it and was surprised that, that was it.

Unnecessary considering the game situation. But nothing illegal about it. Hope this is one more thing to get the boys fired up!

Welcome to the playoffs, Portland. Perhaps you may consider joining in the reindeer games instead of just bending over and taking it?

It was basically the last play of the game. They haven't had a chance to retaliate.

The Blazers need to get a little upset and chippy. They need to stop being pushed around by Dallas, possibly the softest team in the playoffs other than us.

It drove me nuts in game 4 (or was it game 3?), at halftime when Nate told the reporter that he was upset that the Blazers had started getting chippy towards the end of the half. WTF? That "chippiness" is what got us back in the game before halftime.

I agree, but at the same time with the game situation the full court press wasnt needed either. I would be happy if the roles were reversed.

It was a dirty play by Cardinal. No question about it. Hopefully we will respond. These are the times that I miss Oden so much.

Cardinal playing hard, I love it!!!!! Every single one of you complaining about this would be giddy if Joel was still a Blazer and had done that to one of their guys.

hey mm, cardinals on the other team, we are all blazer fans

I understand. I guess I just didn't see it as dirty or a big deal. The Blazers need to man up and stop playing like a bunch of girls. Cardinal played the right way and set a hard pick. Going 100% until the horn sounds. I just don't get what the issue is?

I saw that when it happened. Yeah, it ticked me off. It was a hard screen, and seemed unnecessary at the time. We could use a dick head like that on our team.

I've watched a lot of NBA basketball and I don't think I've ever seen anybody set that kind of a hard screen at the end of a game when the outcome is decided. Certainly it was within the rules, but it wasn't necessary and could have resulted in an injury. There are some things you don't do to opponents in the NBA like rubbing it in by trying to score at the end of a game when the W is sewn up. Cardinal crossed that line of professional "etiquette". I hope it brings a bit of payback at the Rose Garden.

It's not very likely we'll have a chance to repay Cardinal. So I guess since he picked on the smallest guy in the room, Barea should maybe have his head on a swivel?

If his head ain't swiveling at the start of the game, it should be by the end.

still guys... we played hard till the end with the full court press, why do we expect someone else to stop playing hard when we still are?

That pick kind of reminds me of taking the last shot right as the time clock expires when your the winning team. Bad sportsmanship is what it is, I wouldn't mind that pick at any other time in the game and I would have been disappointed if one of our players did the game thing.

im not saying the mavs shouldnt have, im saying that i dont like it

The point of screen is to free a player from the defender so that he can get a shot off. The Mavs weren't trying to score at that point, so the whole reason for laying out and potentially injuring the defender doesn't apply. From that standpoint, it was cheap. That said, all I'm looking for a little fire from the Blazers. If this helps, then great.

I am going to do everything in my annoying power to get Tyson so pissed off at me; that he comes to my section and sock me in the face. Hopefully I can get him suspended for game 7.

I was thinking shit talking like "Hey Tyson, your momma must be real proud she raised such a good daughter! Only bitches whine to the refs!"

or this "Chandler, is that a jock strap or g-string?!"

or "Chandler I didn't know the NBA has women playing in it! You one hella ugly bitch!"

If this actually gets us angry, then we're bigger pussies than I thought.

Does Patty play Aussie Rules Football this way? If so, he's an embarrassment.

If you want to send a message, put Armon Johnson out there and put an elbow in Kidd's, Terry's or Barea's face. Draw some blood. Show you give a shit about being in the playoffs. Why we play Marquis of Queensbury rules is beyond me.

That's how it usually is at the end of games when the winning team has the ball on the last possession. The defender (especially if it's a scrub) gets up on the guy with the ball. That's just what usually happens. It was an unnecessary pick in the first place, and it was very hard. He even lowered his shoulder for it.
