According to a dallas blog, Dirk is questionable and we won't know until shoot around.

Coach Rick Carlisle called it "gradual progress'' but Dirk Nowitzki actually put up a few shots on Monday and, according to the Mavericks, is feeling much better than he was over the weekend after that nasty elbow injury sidelined him for Sunday's game.

He's still listed as day-to-day, and it still seems like he'll have trouble playing if he can't take a hit on his shooting elbow without shooting pain.

It's not so much the shooting or ball-handling, it's blocking out for a rebound or playing post defense that is likely to give him the most trouble.

The Mavericks will know more about his possible availability on Tuesday at shootaround.

I hope hes out for tonight.

A lot of times when a name player is down for a night, teams lower their guard and don't bring enough intensity to the game. So I think that is a mixed bag. They knocked off Cleveland the other night without him. :devilwink:

I just hope Nate has somewhat of a game plan. Oh wait, this is the mavericks! He has lost to them like 6 times straight or something?

I agree. But I am hoping that their game against Cleveland was the 'Rally without Dirk" game and tonight will be the let down game.

No doubt that Dallas is a deep team, but in the last minute when the game is on the line.....I don't want to see him in there.

Well every game lately we have won every quarter that we have outrebounded the Blazers foe. That being said, I believe effort will be the primary key for being competitive tonight.

At least the Blazers had a day off to recoup as that will help our chances to possibly win this game. Hopefully the Mavs aren't that prepared because Oden is not in the blazers game set anymore and Mavs have only seen Miller in video. Oh and I hope we see this guy prancing around in frustration!

Maybe if he comes in we can have the NBDL dude come in and tear a new gash in his elbow!:devilwink:

So you're saying that having a non offensive threat in Przy is a "problem" for their game plan? And do you think that in Miller's 11 years he's never played the Mavs before?

:dunno:

Well, if he does play, I hope his first shot attempt, he's fouled on his way up. Dirty? Maybe.

Typically scouts catch the last 3 to 4 games before the one being played, so I think they have seen enough. Plus Carslisle is a good coach. He won't let them show up unprepared.
