Blah blah blah blah....... playing for pride against the evil empire.....blah blah blah

#Blazers just opened practice and it appears Nicolas Batum practiced today. On the other hand, Wesley Matthews is still in a walking boot.

JJ update

J.J. Hickson has a sore lower back and did not practice. Per #Blazers, he is questionable for tomorrow.

Stotts

Coach Stotts says Wesley Matthews (right ankle) will not play and Nicolas Batum (right shoulder) is doubtful tomorrow vs the Lakers.

Haynes

Wesley Matthews (ankle) says he hopes he can play again this season. But he doesn't know. An MRI came back negative.

Excuse me, but are we really starting 4, yes FOUR rookies tomorrow night again the mighty Lakers?

Damian Lillard, Will Barton, Victor Claver, LaMarcus Aldridge, Meyers Leonard............

OMG: Kome is going to be salivating all over the floor. Hope they have extra mops. I wonder if the refs will just go on auto-pilot and job us as per corporate policy, or if they'll realize they can just call the game semi-straight? My money is on hosing the rooks early and often.

Stotts should try to get ejected so he doesn't have to watch this game. It's not going to be pretty.

Why Start LaMarcus? Just put Hickson in the 4 spot and really screw with the Lakers.

Just the kind of low-effort game thread I would expect from a closet Kobe-lover!

How many rookies did we start when Bassy and Ha lead the Blazers to victory against the Lakers? Looks like only one...

But seriously, look at that fucking team.

Also, if Bassy had played like that every night, he'd be Lillard.

Damn. How pathetic is it that third-year player Luke Babbitt is stuck on the bench behind that lineup?

Anyway, it should be fun to watch Will the Thrill do his thing. Or not.

Blazers will probably lose by 10+ with Wes, Batum, and JJ out.

I'm going to the game. Not gonna miss my team kicking the Lakers out of the playoffs. We still have our two best players and we're at home. We play very well when I attend home games.

He played 42 minutes. The best players per minute, in order, were Patterson, Outlaw, and Ha. If I go by the boxscore.

McMillan was a good underdog coach. I hope an underdog team makes him their head coach.

That Lakers team was the last Lakers team that didn't make the playoffs.

Beating LA puts them in a tie with Utah; on Friday, Utah faces Minnesota while LA faces Golden State. We must beat LA tonight to crap in Stern's shoes.

.

How is it pathetic that he is behind Aldridge and Claver? Those are both very solid players.

It doesn't matter who is wearing the Blazer jerseys against the Lakers in the Rose Garden - their game automatically elevates due to the hatred we all feel for the Lakers and their bandwagon fans.

I'd rather they start Freeland. When was the last time a team started 5 rookies? It could be, like, history!!

If you can't beat out a rookie with a 7.9 PER and you're in your third season, it's not good news.

Oh yes PER, the perfect stat.

It ain't perfect. But if you are at 9.0 or less and you aren't a Bruce Bowen-like defender, you really shouldn't be starting on an NBA team.

Claver has some intangibles, but not enough to make you forget about his PER.
