Either I'm a PLO terrorists and never knew it or this is a pretty big game and there will be a lot of international press at the game because it doesn't appear that I will get press row access tonight.

An Inside Look at Maccabi Haifa

Get to Know Portland's International Opponent

The Maccabi Haifa basketball franchise is one of the top Israeli professional basketball teams playing in the Israeli Basketball Super League (Israel’s top division). Maccabi Haifa, also referred to as the “Greens”, has a long and storied legacy as they were one of the original eight teams to form the Israeli Premier League (also known as the “Super League”) during the 1953-54 season. In the early 1970’s and mid-1980’s, Maccabi Haifa’s home court, Romema Arena, was one of the loudest and toughest venues for opponents to play at in Israel. The team’s success on the court led them to an Israel State Cup Final appearance in the 1970-71 and 1984-85 seasons.

In July of 2007, Maccabi Haifa was bought by American businessman Jeffrey Rosen, who quickly revitalized the franchise and the team’s passionate fanbase in Haifa. Under the ownership of Mr. Rosen, the team has reached the Israeli State Cup Finals or Israeli League Finals five times (2 State Cup Finals, 3 Israeli League Finals). The Greens won their first-ever championship in franchise history in the 2012-13 season, defeating perennial powerhouse Maccabi Tel Aviv and were one basket shy of earning the team’s second title this past season.

Maccabi Haifa’s four–team NBA tour against the Washington Wizards, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors will mark the fourth time in five years the Greens will travel to North America to play against NBA competition. In three trips to the United States, Maccabi Haifa has faced six NBA opponents (New Jersey Nets, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Memphis Grizzlies). At the conclusion of the North American tour, Maccabi Haifa will rank second all-time among international basketball teams in games played (10) against NBA opponents.

It was Sly's turn. Tryouts for you rooks are almost over, then Darknuts takes over for the regular serason.

Who's your pick off the bench to click tonight? I'm going with Wll

I didn't know Dame was playing, I thought CJ would start

Is there no way to watch this game? Will God get mad at us for defeating his chosen people?

Someone actually bought my tickets for $200 for this game. I've never sold a preseason game for that much.

I think our bench is going to see a lot of court in this game

It's not that it was my turn, it's that I'm the only one who knows how to make a kosher game thread.

Here is what I dug up on them.
Chubrevich who is a 7 footer that has good mobility and a pretty good presence around the basket. This team plays small and very quick. they quite usually play the three guard system and stretch the floor which is consistent for IPL. They will not back down and will be playing for the win. Some of you might remember Brody Angley out of Santa Clara. Blazers did take a look at him but he eventually went undrafted. He is a pretty good distributor of the ball and can shoot the three.

Jeff Allen was a Virginia Tech guy that was just too small to play the power forward position in the NBA. He also has had weight problems but you might see a different player after shedding some pounds and the fact that he is trying to get back to the states. He needed ball handling skills and footwork so he went for playing time in Israel.

Demontez Stitt might also make you look. He is out of Clemson and quick but he is just not strong enough for the NBA at this point. Another guy who is working on his game.

Does Brian Wheeler's voice sound different or is something up with my radio?

Anywhere to watch or listen to this on the internet?

Damn it my iheart radio went to some bullshit Hollywood sports show instead of the game. Grrrrrr!
