For the 1st time this season, the Blazers turned on the swish3 offense and showed how good the team could be, scoring 133 points total, with 21 of 47 shooting (45.7%) from beyond the arc. Dame scored 11 of 17, which is 64.7%! Jerami and Josh added 5 more on efficient scoring. Blazers outrebounded them 54-37.

With Dame returning to his All Star form, and coordinated team defense and offense potency, the Blazers are in form to win the WCF and play for the Championship. Let's see this Blazer team continue, and an exciting road to the NBA Title!

If our shooters all click from range we're really hard to keep up with. Was good to see the deep ball falling last night!

Blazers with the power of the swish3 are at the top of the NBA, given a coordinated D and O effort and with minimized TOs. This year, the average number of swish3 scores to get a win moved up to 16. Every game the Blazers can score 16+ swish3s has a good chance of a W, even in the playoffs!

only two teams in the NBA average 16 three's a game: Boston and Golden State; one has the NBA's best record, the other is a .500 team. I'm not seeing 16 as the magic number, but I don't know how you arrived there

Portland is 3rd in the NBA in 3ptFG% but they are 21st in opponent 3ptFG%. I'd think the key three point stat for them is if they can get better at defending three's.

The Blazers are 3rd in the league in opponent FG% at the rim; 11th in opponent FG% in the 3-10' zone; 1st in opponent FG% in mid-range 10-16' zone; and 13th in opponent FG% on long two's. But 21st in 3 point defense. And I'd say that is mainly due to coaching and scheme. If the Blazers could rotate better toward open three point shooters and make them less open, that would help more than any other defensive improvement IMO

Thank you for this thoughtful reply. I agree that strong improvement is necessary in Blazer defense of the swish3. Let's continue with the leadership of Dame in scoring with the swish3!

And 16 a game is a pretty good benchmark. I'm with you on that. 48 points or better on the Swish3's!

The Blazers won the Dec 14 game over the Spurs scoring 18 of 40 swish3s, again bettering the 16+ that correlates with a W.

This was another superb game for Dame, with Simons and Sharpe also scoring well, and efficient swish3 shooting by Walker and Keon.

Let's keep this going for a win over the Mavs on Friday!

The Blazers without swish3s get the loss, with the Mavs getting a 15 pt advantage in the Dec 16 loss in Dallas. Let's return to scoring 16+ swish3s and win the Rockets and Thunder games. And let's get together with effective defense and minimize the TOs.

They didn't have 0 3PM so explain the difference?

You swap that 18 made threes by the Mavs with the 13 made threes by the Blazers and you have your win. The TO's might very likely have had a bunch to do with that.

You might be on to something here?

The Blazers scored 30 more points on swish3s than the Rockets in the Dec 17 win, even though that was only 13. Dame and Simons had 5 each. Despite being outrebounded and the refs giving the Rockets a 10 shot FT advantage, this was enough for the win.

Let's keep up the intensity on D and O, limit TO, and aim for 16+ swish3s scored for a win over the Thunder Monday.
