After Bill Simmons (in a completely unbiased fashion) suggested that Dame will be more likely to be successful in Boston than in Miami, the Celtics ideas have begun. May as well have a thread for them too.

I like the Celtics option if it involves a 3rd team to take Brown.

Plus I could cheer Dame on the Celtics when they’re not playing the Blazers (moved out to MA two years ago).

why not keep brown?

Would Houston or another lottery level team take him? If so, we could get a better prospect like Amen or Ausar Thompson.

What does Boston have that POR would want? Brown wouldn’t stay

the big problem with a Dame to Boston trade is that future picks from Boston will almost certainly be worse than future picks for Miami or Brooklyn

as for Jaylen Brown, I don't think he's good enough to deserve 57-60M year, but he'll want close to that. I'd see a giant fucking headache in Portland's future so I'd be inclined to ship him away for draft assets

Oh man. I drove across the country last summer to Boston. Driving there was an absolute nightmare. How has that been for you?

Not that he would be a huge factor, but I'd love to see Pritchard as a Blazer. Regardless of who it is, I just want to see a true PG as the backup. He's buried on the Celtics bench and would help with attendance.

I wouldn't say no to a signed-and-traded Grant Williams, but you can't bundle a sign-and-trade with other players, can you?

I did that drive from Corvallis to Boston two summers ago…with 3 kids! But it was actually fun with a Yellowstone stop and other breaks. I don’t live in Boston, ghat would suck. I’m an hour away, in Gloucester on the coast. It’s been great.

Nice! I went to OSU so I love Corvallis too.

Upstate new york was fine driving. It was just Boston that was ridiculous.

You are now 'Officially' our Celtics Insider in relation to what is going on with Dame. You likely will hear a lot more with local media than we hear out here. Appreciate anything you can share. :twothumbs:

Where's the 2021-2022 Cleveland Cavaliers team that wants to "win now?"

Orlando? Indiana?

That's the trade thread I want to see.

The Nets are only involved because I don't want Kevin Porter Jr. Come up with an alternative way to re-route him and I'll be fine with it.

He's going to be so expensive... even if he wanted to stay, I'm not sure spending that much money on a guy with his skill set and age makes a lot of sense.

It makes more sense than spending it on Grant, but as a centerpiece for a Dame trade I don't think it makes sense.

Jaylen Brown will be 27. A 2-way SF.
Nurkic will be 29, Grant at 29, Thybulle 26, Ant 24, Nas 23 … Scoot 19, Sharpe 20, Murray will be 23, Rupert 19

Brown would be the #1 if he can do it. He gets a team. He’s got to work on his handles, but if he’s in the trade, he’ll be the best player Cronin could get. It’s a go for it move by both teams. Hope it happens.
