It just seems to me that it is prudent to leave 2 roster spots open in the event of injuries... and we need to sign a couple of players to short term contracts.

Hindsight being 20/20 Mills over Udoka was a mistake. I also think we win that game without the three back breaker calls in OT.

That said we should have won in regulation and you could see the team was gassed. Oden and Roy both were having trouble making their moves, the spirit was willing and the flesh was weak.

I didn't think the specific move of signing Mills was bad. But I agree about the full roster. Every year there tons of free agents with talent looking to find a home. Because we carry a full roster every year, we completely get shut out of that market. In the old days teams used to function with 12 guys and one on IR, and almost never get thin on depth. Just keep on guy with Gastritus on the IR and your good to go.

I don't think we can really say that until we see Mills play. I'm not very optimistic about that, but you have to see both sides of the equation before your hindsight can be perfect.

I don't have a problem with that. My problem is with signing two second rounders to guaranteed contracts after they go down with season ending injuries. These are guys that may not ever make it in the league and won't even get a chance to show what they've got until year 2, but we locked them up and wasted roster spots in the process. That made no sense to me.

I'm not sure what the problem is. If you don't want Mills or Pendergraph, just cut them and sign someone else. It's not like signing those two is irreversible. At worst it just costs a little money.

Exactly.

And if it's a matter of KP not being willing to cut someone he drafted, then THAT is the failure, not the full-up 15 man roster.
