At the first sight of Craig Brackins’ bright blue Nikes, it was obvious he was different. The 6-foot-10 forward, an NBA assignee whose rights are owned by the Philadelphia 76ers, joined the Springfield Armor today and wore sneakers that did not at all match those of his teammates.
But it didn’t take discolored footwear for Brackins to stand out in the first game of his second D-League assignment in Springfield. Brackins poured in 31 points to lead Springfield to a 110-95 victory against the Erie BayHawks Saturday night at the MassMutual Center.
“That’s what [Brackins] does,” said Armor coach Dee Brown. “He drove here and came right out onto the court, so that just shows how professional he is and how prepared he is to play the game. We’ll probably have him for a few games, and then he’ll go back up [to the NBA] and join his team.”
