1) No other player in NBA history has EVER scored more points in a game that was either the first or second playoff appearance of his career.

MOST PTS, FIRST POST SEASON GAME

38 04/11/1979 Williamson, John
37 03/23/1949 Mikan, George
36 03/25/1970 Abdul-Jabbar, Kareem
36 04/13/1976 Brokaw, Gary
36 04/18/2009 Rose, Derrick
36 04/17/1977 Erving, Julius

MOST PTS, SECOND POST SEASON GAME

42 04/21/2009 Roy, Brandon
41 04/23/2007 Boozer, Carlos
39 04/27/2005 Arenas, Gilbert
38 04/01/1974 Lanier, Bob
38 03/24/1949 Mikan, George

2) Furthermore, Brandon’s cumulative total of 63 points after his first two playoff games puts him in pretty exclusive company.

1. 75 George Mikan
2. 69 Abdul-Jabbar, Kareem
3. 67 Paul, Chris
4. 66 Erving, Julius
5. 65 Lanier, Bob
6. 64 Issel, Dan
7. 63 Roy, Brandon
7. 63 Chamberlain, Wilt

Hey where do you go to find playoff stats like that? Just basketball-reference?

The guy is special, there is no doubt about it. That trade made KP's career, he is now a "made guy" in the NBA GM Mafia.

Going for 42, with either Battier or Artest on him PLUS a double team most of the night....Damn!

Brandon IS the man.

That game was amazing. I was watching the game with my boss and he even asked me this morning who that guy that was hitting those incredible shots were. haha. he said he was better than Kobe.

To build on why Roy is the man. I watched the interveiw of DWade last night, after he went for 33(?).

When Brandon goes off, he talks about what the team did differently, and how 'we' need to keep doing the things that are working. Wade talks about how 'he' did this and how the basket looked huge to him, so he just kept putting the ball in the hole.

I vs. me.

Just another reason to love Brandon.

BROY is the man!

I honestly believe Portland should retire his number today. Few players have done as much for the team as Roy has in only three years. He took the role of the face of team and risen to the task in a way that defies reason.

Every time I think about Roy as a Blazer it brings a smile to my face. No one else should ever wear number 7.

I think Roy should be allowed to wear it. ;) That's why retiring a jersey is typically done after the player has finished his tenure with the team!

no, this is not my work, just passing along info I received

Oh, well. The reason I ask is because it's hard to find statistics on playoffs, I would like to find an easier site than BR. If you could find out that would be awesome.
